So the article itself is wrong and I'm sure that they did it so they coudl fuel the SUV bashing fire.

That's not an SUV. That's a mid-size van. Late model GMC Safari to be specific. Not a minivan because the Safari is body-on-frame and RWD, but it's still not an SUV. This is what happens when women try to talk about cars. :p

(Just messin' with ya, kid.)

EDIT: And yes, the Safari (and it's Chevy Astro twin) look very much like trucks/SUV's because of the target market for these mid-size vans. It's a niche market for people who don't want a "carlike" minivan, but want something that's more akin to a truck with body-on-frame construction and an engine that points in the traditional direction.

Obviously it was the fault of the SUV, not the driver.

Oh chill out and RTFT. I SAID that my family has an SUV, I don't have anything against them.

. <--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= the point

I don't care if you have a SUV or like or hate them, but my point is people like to blame the vehicle and not the driver. The vehicle in question did not impale itself on a pole, the dumbass driver did that.

Hmmm...

Wonder when the Astro/Safari is due for a restyle, IIRC, it was based on the old S10 frame/driveline...

Well... it IS the SF Chronicle, so I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. ;)

It is a GMC Safari (van/truck class vehicle). Everyone calling it an SUV is an idiot.

That isn't a minivan. It's a mid-sized van. Bigger than a Mini, smalelr than a full-size.

It's GMC's equivalent to the Astro.
