Driver installation order?

Just put in an order for the guts of a new system:

AMD Athlon 1700+ XP CPU
Soltek SL-75DRV2 mobo
Gainward/Cardexpet GeForce 3 Ti200
512mb PC2100 DDR memory
Enermax FS-710B case
(Arctic Silver, CPU fan)
~$700

I intend to install WinXP Professional on it. Fresh install, of course. But this got me thinking about drivers and specifically, if they should be installed in a particular order. I was thinking:

1. (Install OS)
2. Via 4 in 1
3. Video card drivers
4. DirectX 8.1
5. Other drivers (for, e.g., firewire card, printer)

Comments on the new system? Driver install order?

I usually install dx just after the via drivers & before the video drivers.
next I install soundcard & drivers, then whatever.
others may differ!

the 4-in-1 only installs the power management stuff. i didnt install it (the other stuff isnt used by xp)
directx 8.1 ships with xp

you may even use the video drivers if you are happy with them (ships with the det 4 i think, dont remember the exact revision)

xp will probably find most of the drivers you need, i was pleasantly suprised. very very few things i had to go find.
