I'm having plenty of troubles with my soundcard (Creative AudioPCI Ensonique ES1371,1373 WDM) [Yes that is a very long model name]

So, I was trying to install drivers, and the only one I can find is off the creative website, and yet when I go to install it I get the message:

"Setup cannot detect any soundblaster product on your system. Please be sure it is installed properly."

Why is it telling me this? I was thinking it might be because of the Ensonique/Creative licensing problem so my card technically isn't soundblaster and now there are no drivers anywhere for my outdated Ensonique. ANyone have this card or this problem before?

sometimes creative update drives require the original driver to exist first, is the sound card in perfect working order? how old is the sound card?

It's at least 3 years old. It's not in good working order. I get massive amounts of slowdown on my music or sounds if there is any onscreen activity such as scrolling text, flash ads, etc.
