Driver head popped off.

so i went golfing today. i was having a horrendous time with my driver.

it wouldn't hit straight, on hole 12 the head just popped off.

and no, i wasn't hitting the ground all day, i barely left any divots at all.

anyway, so i took an extra driver out of my friends bag and hit that driver exceedingly well the rest of the day.

moral of the story, don't lose your head over a driver.

popped off ? you mean like there was a spring inside there and you were just standing there and pop, the head flew off ?

that is weird.

Did the head simply pop off or did the shaft break at the hosel? If the head slipped off and the shaft is intact you can just epoxy it back together. If the shaft broke it's trashed and you'll need to drill out the piece that's left in the hosel before you can use the head again.

funny you mention it, the head on my 5 iron did the same thing today on the range.

good thing for me, i placed an order for a new driver and 3 wood friday. should get it by end of this week, beginning of next week.

yup, the shaft broked in the hosel.

i just gave the head to a friend of mine, i couldn't hit with it worth a sh1t anyway. i'm just not good enough to be trying to hit a 8.5 driver with a stiff shaft.

Friend lost the head of a 3 iron at the driving range a few months ago. Was an old crappy range club though so no biggy.

its the 3rd time ive accomplished such a feat... was afraid to hit anything after that tho, and just went with a pitching wedge for the last few balls.
