Driver cleaner?

I'll be upgrading my BFG 6600 GT OC card to an MSI Radeon x1800 XT 256MB. Do I need to run a driver cleaner program to ensure a fresh install of drivers? Or should I just do a normal uninstall?
 
Definetly use Drivercleaner in safe mode after uninstalling the drivers, specially since you are going from Nvidia to ATI.
 
Good luck with the Nvidia to ATI conversion ... I've had it work & not work, driver-cleaner use notwithstanding, but it does improve your odds quite a bit.
Word to the wise though, back up all your critical data now before you touch anything if you havn't already just in case things head south & you have to re-install .. it sucks doing it in VGA-mode!
