I know it should be in software forum but I am curious if it works for windows vista to remove nvidia display driver? is it safe? I used it all the times with windows xp but never tried with vista.

Is this the old one before they made it that you had to pay for Drivercleaner? I just use Driversweeper (from Guru3d), does the same thing and is free.

I guess you could be right because I googled and found two different drivercleaners one has to pay 10.00 and this pro version is free...I used pro version for a long time with windows xp to weed out ati drivers.

I think the vista version is for pay and the xp version is free? The x64 version is for pay for sure, at any rate.

Switched from an NVIDIA 7900 GT to a AMD HD 3850 yesterday. I had no problems simplying uninstalling the NVIDIA drivers from the CP. Deleting the NVIDIA folder on C: and shutting down. Removed the NVIDIA card and installed the new ATI card.

Zeror issues and performance is as expected

(vista x64)

Driversweeper. I think it works better than DriverCleaner Pro 1.5 (after I used it for years). I have both on my PC and out of curiosity ran DriverCleaner Pro first. Driversweeper picked up numerous Nvidia files and registry entries that DriverCleaner Pro missed (after using both the driver and cab cleaners).

Free is the best price.

I use DriverCleaner.net version 3.9. I believe that's the latest one, as I just got some updates for it.

Driver cleaning programs are somewhat a relic of the past when graphics drivers were prone to causing problems. If you're not positive that you need a cleaner, you might just go without one.

OK I will go with clean sweeper then. many thanks to everyone.

xboxlpu It sounds very easy but it left some entries in the registery file so I wanted to completely weed out with one click.

That happens to be a situation that I've run into while setting up a Retro Platform for a couple of old games, and would like a 'Cleaner that works in Win98se, but if there's one out there any longer, it hasn't shown up in extensive use of Google . .

Suggestions, anyone?
