driver/BIOS help

I posted this issue a while back, and still haven't came to a conclusion.

I'm having some problems with my display recently. I was wondering if anyone had any advice/help. The affects of whatever is going on is leading some images to appear 'grainy' or whatever. Also, my display will periodically lock up, until I click the mouse a few times, then the screen will flash black and eventually come back on like normal. During this 'locking up', I'm still able to keep typing and when the display comes back, the text I've typed will be there. This is one of the weirdest things I've ever saw!

This is what I think it could be:
A.) Driver or some sort of BIOS conflictions. When I get to the boot screen, it initially flashes a nVidia BIOS, but quickly goes to Phoenix AwardBIOS. I'm not sure why two different BIOS' would be showing up, you know? I don't know a whole lot about BIOS or anything, but it just doesn't seem natural.
B.) I was also thinking it could be a video card on the brink of being fried. I have an nVidia GeForce TI 200 128MB card.


What do you guys think? I need some suggestions before I start tooling around in the case or something. I'm trying to find the easiest solution, or possible other solutions.

The nVidia BIOS is your video card's own BIOS, and the Phoenix one is your motherboard's BIOS. That's all ok.

Yeah, maybe your video card is simply beginning to fail. You could start by checking its cooling fan to ensure that it doesn't stall out after it's been powered up for a while; a card of that age could easily be having a cooling-fan failure since they're usually cheap sleeve-bearing fans. If you have another compatible video card you could test with, that might be worth a shot too.

but by this post i may as well think its option B. try a different video card.
