I installed Office 2000 Professional on my PC several years ago. We moved since and in the move, the disk was lost/misplaced.

I was wodnering if there is any way to re-install it from Microsoft web page via a download. I'm assuming hte key is buried i nthe registry somewhere so it should work.

But I really have no idea ....... is there any way to easily reinstall Office 2000 Profesional without the install disks?

I think I can do it ... here's hte procedure thus far:

In Internet Explorer ...
- go here: http://office.microsoft.com
- go to downloads
- Go to check for updates

I'm currently DLing SP-1. It's a decent size download .... it might be recognizing that I seem to have lost the installation some how.

downloading a service pack from microsoft isn't going to restore Office 2000 for you. You need to either A. Find the install disk/product key, or B. buy another copy of MS Office, or C. download OpenOffice.

Cool ....

I appreciate the responses!

I thought Open Office was a Linux program.... Time to check that out!
