should there be a limit to the amount of food you can order at a drive thru?
i hate getting behind someone who is ordering for a family of 7 in the drive thru.

No. There should be consumer weight rescritions put into place.

Yeah, I hate it too.

But no. Imagine "Mom" with a car full of kids having to carry all that back to the car? And she'd prolly have to lock the kids in the car (posibly not a good idea), or drag 'em all into the restaurant with her.

didn't think about it that way but then again, as long as she isn't in front of me in the drive thru, who cares? lol

Exactly, it should just be illegal for them to be in front of me... not illegal in general.

They should just have a carpool window. If you're ordering for more than 4 people you go in the carpool lane and wait while they prepare your giant order and get orders for regular 1 person cars.

Ever get stuck behind someone in the Drive thru at White Castle that just ordered 3 Crave Cases of Cheeseburgers with everything.... get a book out.. lol...

I had this happen once... I pulled around and went inside...

i sorta expect it at fast food. what pisses me off is a jackass doing their entire banking at a ATM. All i want to do is pull 20 bucks and said jack ass is making deposits, checking balances... and totally pissing me off.

ATM's should be for withdrawls only!!!!

A drive thru was put in for convenience not expediency. As a result, you shouldn't be allowed to use it unless you are buying for at least 3 people.

Honestly, if you're waiting extensively behind people with large orders, the fast food place is not operating correctly. The cars should pull off to the side or to a designated area after paying and coming up to the second window and it should be fulfilled while taking and cooking other orders.

I hate that too, but I understand when it's a soccer mom full of kids. It annoys me more when someone is ordering food for their whole office for lunch (one person with a crapload of food), or when someone goes through the drive-through and they don't know what they want. If you have to sit there for a few minutes to decide what you want, go inside! Inside there are multiple lines, so it's less prone to bottlenecks.

They really should limit the number of orders. Maybe I'm mistaken, but drive-thrus are made for people on-the-go, who're in somewhat of a hurry and would rather eat in the car then walking in to buy. And people who buy large quantities to bring home/office is abusing the system.

For that and other reasons, I find drive-thru to be much more time consuming then just walking in. Especially during lunch / dinner hours, instead of waiting 30 minutes in your car, walk in, eat, walk out in, usually only takes me about 20-25 minutes.

😕

what are you rating? there is nothing in this thread that needs to be rated

your weak rant.

i don't recall asking anyone to rate it. it was a question also.

It's standard ATOT policy to rate all complaint threads. Your second sentence was not a question, I believe it was this that was being rated. More detail and/or unbridled rage would have earned a higher score.

I feel the same way, I almost always go in.

Heh, I've held up the McDonalds drive-thru window for 4 or 5 minutes (may have been closer to ten minutes but I didn't look at the clock so I'm just guessing low, but while I was waiting it seemed fairly long) ordering just two items, a McRib and a shake. Seems their cook to order system is kinda slow for McRibs. Then they gave me the wrong flavor shake, but I just took it since I was holding up the line so much anyhow. I really wouldn't mind having a warmed-over McRib that's been sitting in the warming rack for 15 minutes since it wouldn't taste that much worse anyways.

Apparently the workers at this McDonald's don't like walking outside the building because they never told me to pull into a parking space to wait for the order.

I think I actually kinda prefer the old system with warmed-over food under a heat lamp, as I vaguely remember being able to get my order almost as soon as I pulled up to the pick-up window before they changed their preparation methods. Now if you're unlucky you have to wait for them to go kill a cow, process it, then cook it. Honestly, most McDonald's food doesn't suffer all that much under a heat lamp anyways. Ok, it gets gross, but it was never gourmet to begin with.
