I was installing a driver for a linksys pci wireless card. The install froze and closed before it was complete. I can't install over it since the installer says it's already installed. However, I can't uninstall it since after the uninstall it's still in add/remove programs and in my programs menu. How do I get rid of this? Thanks in advance.

Try CCleaner or Registry Mechanic to see if you can clear out the bad reg entries.

I don't suggest automated driver "cleaners".

Go into device manager, uninstall the LInksys device, if it's present.

Go into c:\windows\infs and remove the INF associated with the LInksys device (you may need to do some searching within textfile; Windows can do this for you).

Find the .cab file or .exe file from Linksys that has the drivers. It would be best to download them straight from the website.

Using Winrar or similar archive utility, decompress the file so that the drivers are exposed as individual files. Typically but not always they're in a WDM folder.

Using device manager, right-click on the device in question, click Update Driver, and install the driver manually.
