I have a clean install of XP Pro on a Seagate 18.2 GB SCSI running through an Adaptec 19160 on an MIS K7T Pro2A. BIOS files are current on the mobo and SCSI card. I'm trying to create an image to a Plex 12/10/32 SCSI CD-RW. I can select the drive to image, the destination, etc. just fine. My problem is that Drive Image will NOT begin the process after the PC reboots; I just get my desktop as if I never ran the program.

I ran ASPIchk and saw that no ASPI layer was installed, which is what I expected to see (all 'N/A's'). So I installed the only version of ASPI files I had (4.something, they are dated 12/10/01). Running ASPIchk I now get messages that the ASPI layer is not correctly installed, that some files have been replaced with older ones (?) and DRIVE IMAGE still does not work.

I can't find much help on their web site or in the documentation. They reference the README files for v2.0 and 3.0 for ASPI adminsitration; I don't have either of these.

I thought I didn't need ASPI for XP PRo? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

4.7 is the latest ASPI layer. Last place I saw it was CDRInfo.com

I truly think DI2K2 CDRW support is half baked, half assed and poorly thought out. Are you trying to boot from the CD? If so, I think you have to boot from the diskettes and then use the CD as the source.

My advice would pick up the phone and call tech support unless you're using a warez version, then you're screwed.

i have drive image 5.0 (not much different) and i DON'T belive it will work though an IDE add-in card . i have tryed it through 2 different promise ATA100 cards on 2 comps and it just hangs while trying to access the drive. had to plug into the MB IDE channel to get it to work.
good luck
