Drive getting filled on its own

Okay, I'm running Windows 7 and my C drive is getting filled up on its own. Every time I refresh 'My Computer', there's less and less space in my C drive. This happens till there's no space left. Obviously, I'm not transferring any data onto the drive. This happens by itself.

What the hell's going on?

Win7 indexing does add files in background, and there are also temporary Internet files, and shadow copy files associated with System Restore. Can you quantify the fill?

If it is excessive, it could be malware at work.

download WinDirStat. It will give you a graphical representation of your files. You just click on all the really big ones and make sure they are something that should be there. ie pagefile.sys. It takes a little research but it is the only way to truly know.
