Movie comes out tomorrow, anyone planning on seeing this? Pretty good reviews for it so far. 81% on Meta, 94% on RT, 8.8 User score on IMDB. This one kinda snuck up on me, but what caught my eye is Bryan Cranston will be in it, and looking at his IMDB page it looks like he'll be in a bunch of stuff coming up too!

Hmmm... The ads sucked and made the movie look like a Jason Statham rip off.

Maybe that's the new metric. If the previews look like total ass... like they're not even trying to get you to watch the movie, go see it.

The trailers I've seen look awesome. Maybe that was the extended one though.

Yeah, I'm excited for it

For those of us that have never heard of it (me), here's an extended trailer. The ones the actual film put up are shit and don't get you as interested as this one does.

For some reason it's in 3d, didn't even know YT supported that, and crummy quality but you get the point.

Seems to have a good cast, I'll rent it.

I saw the preview and I'd like to see it.

Although it's not likely I will see it until it is released on hulu.

Just saw it.

I found it to a great homage to 80's film making in a Tarantino sort of way. It felt long for a 95-minute movie at times but overall I enjoyed it and the soundtrack.

Talk about the least amount of dialogue I've ever seen for a protagonist!

Just saw it... pretty cool, I liked it. Don't expect a boatload of chase scenes.

No kidding... I guess you dont need to talk a lot if you have that jacket. :hmm:

I expected a movie named Drive to have more driving. That was pretty weak, needed a bit more car shit.

I saw it Saturday. I really liked it. It has some pretty extreme scenes, but don't expect a regular action movie, it also has a main story :p (reminded me a bit of 'man on fire'). The action scenes are about 20% of the movie. It has clear references to 80's movies + some Quintin Tarantino aesthetics.

I would argue that Drive is at times more graphic than Tarantino.

heh, didn't even read your post before posting mine :p

In the original script there were far more dialog, but Ryan suggested that they cut all unnecessary dialog and the director thought it was a good idea.

The director is danish and if you like the aesthetic of this movie I would strongly suggest looking into his pusher trilogy, even though you would need subs ;)

Also check out Bronson. But if you didn't like Drive, you will hate Bronson

Holy shat what an overrated movie. 90 min long but felt like two and a half hrs. Intense boredom with small bits of violence that barely woke me up. Also despite the name had VERy little driving.

I was expecting more driving as well, but I wasn't disappointed by it when I thought about the story.
