Don't mix different kinds of booze--stick w/ one thing.
Don't go hungry.
The common attitude of "holding your liquor" is just BS--it's a matter of compensation, ie someone who is used to drinking a 6 pack in sitting is able to compensate for their physical and mental impairment better than you would be. But that does not make him "more of a man". That kind of attitude--though very common--is just chest-beating stupidity.
Sugar in drinks tend to make some people sick.
Drink water--alcohol dehydrates your body. You'll pay the next day.
Do not eat chocolate/fudge.
Do NOT go to sleep while still drunk!

You won't be able to handle much so that's not really an issue...Just stick to the beer. If it's your first time, a few sips will put you on the floor...

Don't even think about touching the lamp shades. You'll never live it down and I guarantee you someone will have a camera to take pics of your revelry.

<< I'm 125 lbs and 17 yrs. old - what should be the max no. of drinks? Any other suggestions? Let me know >>

Well, I would suggest not to do anything differently than you've already been doing, since you seem to imply that you've handled yourself well around alcohol before. But, it sounds like you are in one of those 'I wanna let loose' moods. Just remember, at the moment you realize you've had too much to drink, you should have stopped an hour or two ago. You always 'feel' behind the curve as far as drinking goes.

The only way you'll learn what your 'limits' are, is to go beyond them and then regret it later...and you WILL regret it. So, I can only recommend that you P-A-C-E yourself, have a good time, but don't try to 'find' your limits, because you're guaranteed to succeed.

Don't fall victim to that stupid 'the more you can drink the cooler or more macho you are' bullsh-t. Whenever I was called a "lightweight", I always thought to myself "That's right, pal. While I am sitting here pacing myself, I'm going to watch you get stupid drunk and act like an idiot."

<< Oh - some vital information.

Try and drink some water during the night too. Whatever you do, once you stop drinking alcohol have some water before you sleep - you'll feel better in the morning because of it - not so much of a chemical imbalance.
>>

This is som eEXCELLENT ADVICE

Drink several glasses of water before you pass out...... it will help a LOT!

bah, break the kid in good... best way to get kicked in the ass over alchohal is racing shots.

Wait till your chick goes home and have some fun racing tequila shots. You'll definitily get the buzz you want, and the next morning you'll be sick enough that you won't want to do it again for a very very long time. Thats exactly what you want, right?

On a side note, when I was 17 I was racing tequila against a 16 year old girl the size of my wrist... I got up to 14 and called it quits, and this girl kept going. I found out the next morning that a few years back she had been in an accident and had most of he small intestine removed, so most of the alcohal she consumed was never dumped into her bloodstream, making her a drinking machine. My buddies will never let me live that down, being outdrank by a girl half my weight and a year under me;)

<< I'll never understand the obsession of teenagers to get drunk. My wife's nephew (and his friends) have gotten into all kinds of trouble (DUIs, fights, assaults, etc.) whenever they went to parties and drink. >>

I started drinking at around 16 I think, and I've never been in any trouble, me or anyone of my friends. Yeah we passed out and got sick more than once, but we never got involved in any kind of fight or anything... it depends who you are.

As for JuMpR629... well I'm gonna write this even though you should already be drunk by now...
Like the other said, stick to beer... don't mix for your first time.
Some said that you should be good with 2-3 beers... but I don't think so. The first time I drank, I only began to feel after my 4th beer (I had 7 beers with me so it was a cool night, I didn't threw up or anything, everything was fine). I usually begin to feel after my 2nd beer now - I don't know why it took me 4 beers for my first time... I don't really drink often, only for "special" occations. I was around 190 lbs at the time though..

I give you big time props for not overdoing it the first time. Most kids go waaaaaaaay overboard and act like an ass, falling all over the place.

Way to go! :D

<< You're 17 and this is your first time drinking? Damn. Anyway, the rule is, if you feel like you've had enough, don't drink anymore :D Works for me. >>

i'm 18 and i've never gotten drunk, never even drank more than one sip of alcohol (once at 4 years old, once at like 13 ;))

i just dont see the point. i've seen too many people do really stupid stuff because of it, i used to hang out with some very alcohol-friendly people back in high school for a while there...

Seriously. Do you realize that most people that get killed driving people home after parties feel the same way, that the 'buzz' has worn off. I lose a lot of respect for you for two reasons. One, you endangered the life of your GIRLFRIEND, two you endangered the life of anyone else on the road. Think about it, you could have easily killed someone. I know you didn't have a lot to drink, but that's a stupid chance to take.

care to show me some facts?
Put up or shut up

He had 2 and a half beers and probably drove home like 2 hours later, well within the legal blood alcohol limit

He said the buzz wore off, then he drove her home.
Let's not jump to conclusions and acusations.
edit: interesting thing is, when you're drunk you think whatever you and your friends are doing is funny.
If most people could see a video of themselves the next day, they'd be shocked by their stoopid behavior.
That's the catch--you *think* what you're doing makes sense when you're drunk.

But actually in a lot of cases, it DOES make sense.
Being drunk doesn't mean you are totally out of sense. It doesn't take your sense away unless you pass out.
Most people are very well aware of what they are doing when drunk...it's just that they don't care as much as what people think of them. So they can act a little more weirdly...or in some case, violently.

Here in Ohio, if you are underage, if you dont blow a 0.000 into the Breathalyser, you're DUI. Personally, I never drive with any alcohol in my system, though it is easier to do that while in college (I'm within walking distance to everything).

Yes, technicly he was DUI. Although he was not impared physicly, so what does it matter? The only question is whether he should have been drinking underage:):takes sip of jack and coke:: ;))
