Drinking coffee makes urine smell like coffee?

My roommate and a friend are saying that if you drink coffee that your piss will smell like it. What do you guys think?

It's true... whenever I have a mocha or a latte, I can smell it a couple hours later... it's disgusting.

One of the reasons I stopped drinking coffee, actually.

Yup it's true. If you eat onions your piss will smell like onions. If you eat asparagus, well I dunno but I heard it will be stankin' like a mofo.

Why don't you try it out? Take a piss, don't flush and it'll piss off your friends 🙂

Hmm i dunno, i have eaten alot of onions in my life and its never smelled like onions 😎
 
hm well i don't think mine does unless i start drinking nonstop coffee... then theres a hint of coffee when i pee. its not a bad thing though, asparagus on the other hand makes you reek.
 
You are aware that coffee goes through your blood stream, then kidneys, then bladder, before it comes out?
I guess your blood smells like coffee too?

 
It is true that you can smell the coffee. I drink maybe one cup a week while i am at work, and never fails around lunch i take a wiz in a urinal and you can smell it hard core. Maybe its because its espresso.

I think you all need to drink some more water. I've long been a bit fan of a morning espresso/mocha/latte, and never have I smelled coffee post-urination.

When I eat Golden Crisp cereal, my piss smells like it after...and you don't have to go sniffin to smell it...
 
If your piss actually smells like something you've eaten, your body is not properly processing your nutrient intake. In other words, there is more wrong with you then the weird compulsion to sniff your pee.

Urine issues! A funny lot here. If you don't smoke but your girlfriend does and if she uh, you know, kisses you, does that make your pee smell like cigarettes?
