I'm usually one of those guys who can drink a whole pot of coffee and not really feel any effects from the caffeine. This morning I gave blood and they didn't tell me anything about what to eat or drink after. I stopped by Starbucks on the way to work right after that and got a 16oz Christmas Blend coffee (very good btw). About 1/4 of the way through I could really start feeling it and continued to drink the rest and I can't remember the last time I've been this hyper :awe: I think this is my first caffeine high in over 10 years!

Now I'm just worried about the crash o_O

If your caffeine tolerance is that high but you enjoy the buzz so much, you could try giving coffee up for a week. The headaches would likely suck for the first couple days, but after that, your tolerance should largely be "reset." Then you can buzz to your heart's content.

Lol if only caffeine had any effect on me =(
Try giving blood then have some coffee!
Starbucks coffee is bad
I do not like their Pikes Place at all, but their bold roasts are usually good.

Thanks :) I might start giving it more often now haha

I gave it up for a whole month once and still didn't get a buzz when I started drinking it again :(

:(

I do that already =) The local bloodbank sends a unit down to my workplace every so many weeks so I donate then continue drinking my coffee. Sadly I'm simply too accustomed to having caffeine in my system.

Be sure to update when you crash.

You can only donate once every 3 months or so. Still its great when you do.
<~ Gives blood every 3 months

If you do platelets you can go every 2 weeks :)

And they give me free coffee after the donation. It rocks.

I've started yawning a little bit but no crash yet... time for lunch now. I'm sure I'll pass out after I eat.

Yikes no thanks!

I'm still hanging in there. I've hit my usual afternoon tiredness levels, but really no better or worse than normal. Bit of a headache coming on now but then again I've been dealing with auditors/consultants this afternoon...

That works for me... I always drink less coffee when I'm not at work, such as during the holidays or even over weekends. One small cup (5oz/1.5dl) in the middle of the day is enough to keep the headache away. Then when it's Monday again, I drink almost a liter during the day :)

Thats the ALEKS machine right? I've never used one of those I always give whole blood.

Not sure if that's what it's called everywhere. It's a machine that pulls about 1 pint from you, then centrifuges it and separates off the platelets, returning the plasma and red cells to you. It goes through several cycles of pulling and returning until they have about 1 pint of platelets from you.
