Have before, probably will end up doing it again. Nowadays though my "drunk driving" is at best a good buzz, whereas back in the day my "drunk driving" was the equivalent of going down a 1 lane minimum maintenance dirt road and it looked like I was on a 4 lane highway.......

When I did and got had, it was a night in the slammer and a $125.00 fine to the sheriff. Now, it is your very future.

I've never driven while intoxicated and never will. I have driven after I've been drinking, but I wait until I'm confident that I can drive with no problems. I always err on the side of caution. I stayed at a friend's house until 4:00 a.m. after stopping drinking at midnight one time. I find it funny how some people (who have little or no experience drinking) think it's crazy to drive after 2 beers in an hour.

Many of the DUI accidents aren't just from being drunk. My pattern was work all week, hit the bars on Friday night, get into the car at midnight or two in the morning and then get groggy at the wheel. Nothing is as simple as it seems. That was 1965 - 1968. Wouldn't do that on a bet now. Even if you didn't cause the accident, you would get hung for it.

I had a ped walk into my car in Arlington, VA at about eight PM. I was cold sober and he got soft tissue damage with a green stick fracture. If I had drenk one beer (enough to smell) and if the jerk had hit his head on the curb and died, I would probably have gone down for vehicular man slaughter. The system dragged me to court four times trying to prove I was at fault, the county lost the site photos that proved he walked into me and two cops lied in court! The guy was so DL that he described the ped light as the little green man in the box! They were trying to hang it on me so my insurance would pick up the tab. I finally got adjudicated "not guilty" and the commonwealth attorney that was prosecuting the case lost a very promising career. One of the lying cops is now a federal agent! Society doesn't seek responsibility, they seek blame!

I'll never drive drunk, but if I have a drink or two with dinner I'm fine to drive afterwards. I go to a college with a huge party school culture. I'm used to drinking, and I can make responsible choices about my travel. Two drinks is usually my limit if I know I have to drive. If I drink more I'll either wait to sober up, have a DD drive, or call a cab and leave my car there and get it the next day. There's no reason to risk other's lives or my own. And, in refrence to the 2 drinks, I'm about 6'4" 240... I drink most weekends while at school (don't even have a car here - at PSU). 2 drinks is nothing. I can drink a 6 pack in an hour and I won't feel it (unless it's something like tripple X). Still I wouldn't want to be pulled over and be even close to the legal limit.

So fucking biased. If you're DRUNK you wouldn't be thinking straight, which would cause even you probobly to not realze that you KNOW its stupid.

I wish I were a religous person so that I could feel solace in the fact that there is a special place in hell reserved for drunk drivers. Alas, I must simply hope one of my loved ones isn't killed by one of the pathetic creatures.

seriously add up just the DUI/DWI accidents and all the rest. It's not really a problem anymore than those that commit crime regularly...it makes a great lobby though...PROFIT!

Not really, if you know you have to drive before you start drinking than drink accordingly. If you want to drink in excess (which is always fun) get a DD, or better yet, walk or take a cab. It's called responsibility, be responsible for your actions. If you get plastered and then go drive around and kill someone it's noone's fualt but your own, you made the choice to drink. Even if the drinking made it so you weren't thinking straight, that's not excuse, because it was your choice to be in that altered state. I mean it's like you're talking about someone slipping you something without your knowledge. Being responsible isn't just about what you do after you're drunk... it's how you plan the whole night...

I have never been drinking and driving, but there have been more than a few times I have been pretty sloshed and did dirve. It scares me just to think about that I have driven while hammered.

I never intend on doing that again, but as the saying goes: never say never.

Who would be dumb enough to admit on here what they do? Just asking for a monumental flame war.

Everyone who drinks and drives should be shot dead.
So that means you want to kill our president. This has been reported to the FBI, someone will be at your house shortly. Pack an overnight bag, you're going to need it.

I was just making the point that people don't make the decision to drive drunk when in a right mind, its when they've already f'd up and gotten pasted, and then can't think straight, i wasn't making an excuse for them...

I drink and drive every now and then. I'm not getting trashed and driving, just a drink or two max. I don't think it's a big deal.
