It's a window one, is that bad? The water was just building up to insane amounts.

Read up that some air conditnioner's throw the water on the hot....thing.

Not sure how it all works, but my older air conditioner had a hole in it.

Did the air conditioner not have a plug that would allow the water to be released?? And my window air conditioner acutally uses the water that builds up to help with the cooling.

No it didn't.

If it did infact help with the cooling, would it hurt if there was a hole in it?

Ugh. Whole != hole.

How is it that so many people confuse homophones like this? It really gets on my nerves for some reason

I don't think it will hurt it, but you shouldn't need to drill one. Is your air conditioned tilted at all in the window? It should have a slight tilt to it to help it evacuate the water out of its predrilled hole.

is it install correctly ? some window air conditioners are supposed to be tilted slightly, not level.

There was no predrilled hole. Thats why I put one there. I guess commen sense (meaning water+hole=get rid of all the water) doesn't apply here?

And yes, whenever I install an A/C I use a level to make sure it's slightly tilted.

And I'm just asking should I plug the hole up or not because I wasn't sure if it helped cool the air.

The pump that sends the water over the hot condenser probably failed. Normally the
water is evaperated and set on it's way with the hot exhaust air.

Drilling a hole to drain the water is OK, kinda ghetto but OK.
