Drill bit size for fan holes?

well i suck and trying to match bits with holes. any tips on how to do this?

like i want to drill some fan screw holes in my case, but don't know what size bit to use. also what size bit to use to bore out a broken screw in the side of an Harddrive.

are you tryign to make holes so you can mount the fan to your case? my suggestion is look at the screws you are using, and then take a drill bit and put it in fornt of teh screw, so the drill bit is infront of the screw and when you look at it strraight on all you see are the threads of teh screw....

start small with the hard drive and then slowly increase the size until it comes out... be careful!
 
This is not critical. The holes should probably be a tiny bit larger than the screws for ease of insertion.
