So which articles of clothing do you wear? Exact brand size and model would be nice.

I wear pants and I wear shirts... sometimes I go commando?

Ok, no. I stick to button up shirts 95% of the time with t-shirts when I'm lazy. This is for both casual and professional dress. No light-tan khakis or windbreakers. Everything is small or extra-small. Stores are mainly Gap, American Eagle and H&M, but just because it's from that stores, doesn't make it good. I don't even consider wearing a majority of the stuff they have.

Different looks work for different body types, faces and ages; you just have to learn how to choose (or find someone to come along with you to help). However, just like fashion, your own sense of fashion changes. I have a bunch of shirts I thought were the shit, that now sit in the bottom of my close, in my "what the fuck was I thinking" pile.

And one last thing. If someone tells you it's the shit, but you feel like shit wearing it, don't. Marc Jacobs is putting a line of skirts out for men in 2010...

I don't know if it's the camera but those jeans are way too blue. Maybe it's fashionable, but to me it looks bad. I try to buy jeans with a grey or subtle brown tint. And don't buy jeans with an obvious fake worn look.

FBB: you need to give us your height and your weight. Your build.

I'm Asian. I have no problems finding clothes. The only problem according to Capt Caveman is my stupidity with wool slacks because living in CA has taught me there's only a week at most where temps are below 40.

BTW: Overheating is not a problem. You're not the only one. I wear a button shirt to work everyday. In winter I might wear a sweater and coat. The minute I enter the office, I'll take it all off down to the shirt. I have to wear a lab coat so I put that over my shirt and I roll up my sleeves. Otherwise it's too hot. Any lifting and I'll start sweating.

This is no excuse for dressing like crap. I feel like some of my friends have no concept of fashion too. They just slap on a nice cotton sweater that's all wrinkled or oversized. Just because you bought it at Banana doesn't make you automatically preppy.

You're in the Bay Area no? East Bay malls suck. Drive down to SJ and go to Valley Fair or Oakridge and hit up the stores there. you also need to identify your style.

Oh ok I saw the pic. Well what style are you? Graphic tee + jeans means tighter jeans.

And the graphic tee. Some people tell you to iron. I say no iron. Not that I like the wrinkled look, but anyone with a decent sense of washing and drying their clothes can wash t-shirts that come out wrinkle-FREE. If you are wrinkling cotton t-shirts, I can't imagine what's happening to your dress shirts. They must be like a battlefield.

Go put on a track jacket on top of that. Would work wonderful. Zip hoodie. Jeans are the fundamental. I went through many jeans before finding out that I do like straight cut and somewhat slim too. American brands' slim is perfectly fine (not designer jeans) as it caters to the generally overweight American population. I know I'm not slim because I tried Diesels and 7s and slim makes me look like a fatass. But Gap and Express work well on slim fit for me.

Uh, you don't iron tee shirts like that. Wash, dry, hang, wear. I let a friend shop for my clothing last week, got some more fashionable jeans and shirts.

It is more important of how you carry yourself than how you dress.

I have met many well respect educated people in third world counties that carry them self like emperors while dress in worn out but clean clothes.

First immediately lose 5 pounds, work out and lose those ridiculous looking Pokemon brows and get a cooler hair cut. It looks like a UFO landed on it. Grow a beard. Your jeans are too loose but your T-shirt is OK, just too flabby on the bottom. Start there.

Ok, this thread is a tad bit old, but still new enough that I can bump this rather then making a new posts.

Sooo... Any advice on learning how to be fashionable? I'm not looking for advice on buying a particular pant or shirt, but how to be fashionable in general. More like a book of Fashion or clothe ideas. Much like Fuzzy Bunny, I'm a complete fashion newb.

No pics up yet (I'll try and get some) but I'm a 5 foot 11 inch 190 lb Hispanic male.

I'm a short asian guy.. 5'6", 140lbs
I go to the gym twice a week.
I find that tighter fitting clothes look good on me, especially the ones that are made to be tighter fitting like the ones from american eagle or hollister. Their button up shirts look nice too, especially with the sleeves rolled up like how they usually have it on their mannequins.

For winter clothing, I got myself a nice looking jacket. A few tighter fitting pullovers or hoodies look good too.

You mostly just have to go shop around at the mall and try out different things to see which looks good on you.

"Fashion" is stupid.
But if you insist, just make a female friend and ask her to go shopping with you...
