dremmel tools for case mods??

hey guys... i have done a few serious case mods in the past. i have a dremmel but i cant find a good tool that will cut easily through the sheet metal on the sides of the cases. does anyone have any suggestions on what tool to use and where i can get them? thanks a lot

Although I have not used them yet Cole at CaseEtc says that the Diamond cut off wheels are very good. I think this is what I will use to cut the fan guards out of my SX1030 and will probably use one for the window I am planning on making too. They are a little expensive at 6.99 a piece but Cole says they last pretty long and cut well too.

I am planning on getting a holesaw from caseetc.com for doing my upcoming case mod. I don't want to buy a dremel and this seems like the perfect tool to make error free blow holes. They come in 80, 92, and 120mm sizes too.

fiber glass cutoff wheels are for cutting metal. at the store, it says the diamond wheel is not for metal

i have a few of the fiberglass reinforced ones... but they did not seem to cut the metal very well... where can you get the diamond tiped ones?

It's like $8-10 at a hardware store like HomeBase or Home Depot.. It's much easier than using Dremel tools or holesaws.. Takes me 2 minutes but remember to get one that cuts right or left but not straight ones.

i tried that before but my case is like .4" thick so i bought a dremel.
i love my dremel because there are so many things you can do with it

well i believe Frys has the pro set with the toolbox for 69.99, 7 speed setting and the extension too. Not bad at all I got one for Christmas

i wanted to do some case modding... what dremel set should i get (and where)? they ahve like 2 different ones right? i dont have too much money so take that into consideration..

I use a Dremel tool with the thicker cutoff wheels, and not the reinforced ones. I don't know how quickly the reinforced ones wear down, but from what I've seen, it seems to be about as quick as thick cutoff wheels. That being the case, I use the thick cutoff wheels - I believe they're about 1mm thick. They get through pretty easily, and are much cheaper than the fiberglass reinforced or diamond tipped wheels.

I find a jig saw to be much easier to use than a Dremel.
Plus when I take a concrete paint scraper wheel (with THOUSANDS of thin metal "hairs" sticking out of it) I can get the cut so clean that you can slide your finger all the way around without having to worry about cutting yourself AT ALL.
