Dremel cutoff wheel

Personally I wouldnt waste your time with a dremel. I used it, and got the best wheels they had. Still used them up like water. And they arent cheap. I would use a jigsaw if I were you. May be loud, but its cuts your time in half and you dont have to keep replacing damn wheels. As for the brand, cant recall, but the home depot guys can direct you to the ones to get.

For long distances, yeah, use a jigsaw with a fine-toothed blade. It goes really quick too.
But for small, or detailed (anything that isn't a straight line) cuts, use a Dremel. I prefer the fiberglass-reinforced wheels. Or rather, I don't bother with anything else. The regular ones wear down really quick on anything harder than styrofoam (ok, I exaggerated); the heavy duty ones are only a little better. The fiberglass-reinforced wheels are not only larger, but, well, they're reinforced, so they last a lot longer.

get reinforced. A little harder to go around corners with them but better. You use them faster than a fat woman running to food (no offense). BTW I blew out a dremel cutting my sx835 case. LET THE DREMEL DO THE WORK> DONT PUSH

You could also double up the non-reinforced wheels in a pinch if you need to. Otherwise, go with the reinforced fiberglass ones like the others have said. Cutting out stamped fan grills shouldn't be a problem. I'd recommend a dremel over a holesaw for this job.

Thanks, I got some fiberglass wheels and they worked out great. I barely wore down one wheel to cut out the grills of 4 cases.
