Just saw this in the Sunday ad. It has adjustable RPM (5000-35000), comes with flex shaft, cutting guide, 72 accessories, and case. SKU 3964-01 (755-041). Go down there and check it out. I think there's also a thing with AT&T long distance where if you switch over you get a $25 GC to Home Depot, their callers finally got me. I just switched, hopefully I'll get my GC this week. Ad says prices are good till 12/24 so you have plenty of time to go pick one up.

:D I am actually in the market for a Dremel tool. Is this one an actuall Dremel brand or an imitation? I would love to hear what some more 'tool-minded' people have to say about this deal? Good quality item? Hot deal or not? What do you think?

<<<Dremels kick serious a$$ for cutting windows in cases and modding your PC!>>>

It's a genuine Dremel. The one I saw had a handle on the side, and looked bigger than the conventional one.
That one is $74, but doesn't look like the conventional Dremel.

I just pickup the same set from sears with the 10% off that i they have yesterday from 7:00am to 10:00am. Its $79.99-$8=$72+tax.

Not bad. Now I just have to find things to cut, drill and polish. :)

I picked up the Dremel kit to replace my broken piece-o-crap Harbor Freight rotary tool, but I'm not sure I'll keep it. After doing some research online I found out that the Black & Decker RTX-2 rotary tool appears to be a better deal. The Dremel as a 1.15 amp motor but the RTX has a 2 amp motor. I'm also pretty sure (but not certain) that all the Dremel accessories will fit the B&D RTX-2.

I'm not dissin' Dremel tools, I'm sure they're a heck of a lot better then my broken Chinese-made generic tool, but the RTX seems to have very positive reviews and the extra torque might come in handy. Having thought about it a bit I'm considering a good deal on the RTX as an alternative to Dremel.

Edit: the digital-style Dremel tool at Costco (below) is more akin to the RTX-2, but it also has a 1.15 amp motor

The Digital Dremel with 126 pc accessories was sold for 69 at the black friday weekend at lowes.
I think i will definitely visit the walmart and see the B&D RTX
walmart link
This may or may not be the best one for B&D as i read somewhere that there are a RTX-2 with flexshaft about the same price. May be a local B&M.
also for the dremel at walmart for 77.96 76 accessories include flex-shaft

if you look at home depot and seach for 755041 as sku# (have to do a search first and see a screen to search as sku#)
you will see this price at 79.9,
with flex shaft and cutting guide. (i guess good for cutting holes in dry wall, not sure.) Model: #3964-01
SKU: #755041

I liked the more powerful B&D RTX. I was a little worried about lack of accesories for the RTX. A search find very few available.

Since then I got a 3 speed Dremmel. It works great on mods to my computer case and for shearing off small bolts.

Home Depot has the 3-speed 2.0 amp RTX-4 for $30 while supplies last. My understanding is that the dremel accessories also work with black & decker rtx.:) rtx-4 specs

BTW, anyone buy at $74 should do a price adjustment or something if they have it (i don't know how long Home Depot will guarantee it) May be you can return and rebuy it?

I was actually thinking about getting the RTX but the lack of the accessories didn't make it economical...you wanna have the flex shaft, plus the cutting guide, all the accessories + the carrying case and the DREMEL name, I think it was worth it. :)

how much is the RTX-2? you have to be careful because I dont' think RTX-1 is 2amp. I've seen some cheapo Black&Decker with 0.5amp motor.

Also you have to pay attention to the accessories coming with the kit. I picked up the Digital Dremel with 126 attachment for $69 during Lowe's Black Friday. Most of the other ones dont' have nearly as much attachment. Also I've heard about Black&Decker don't last very long due to the mechanical designs. just my 2c.
