I also enjoy using my Dremel on those plastic clamshell packages that are too thick for scissors to handle. I don't care to try it with a razor blade and wind up missing various bits of flesh. Dremels are quite excellent little things.

You see the hole on the side of that thing? Just stick something pointy in there and it releases the pin.

That one in the picture has ink inside, I wouldn't have use a dremel on it.

They forgot to take an ink tag off of some pants I bought once. I came back in a few days later and told them - they took it off for me immediately without asking questions... they didn't even ask to see a receipt or anything.

I exchanged a shirt and somehow managed to get home with one that had a security tag still on it. Just drilled through the center of it with a cordless drill.

Did you know you can also remove those with a large rubber band (one from a post office.) You don't need a dremel.

Have yet to see one of those clamshell packages that aren't easily cut with good shears.

Of course, trying to cut those packages with scissors made to cut paper just doesn't do it. Spend a little money and buy a set of kitchen shears. I was so impressed by the set Debbie uses in the kitchen that I bought a set for myself.....darned thing cut almost anything.

Best $15 I ever spent.....J.A. Henckels kitchen shears.

Ought to get yourself a set and never be outwitted by those plastic clamshell packages again....or any other container. I've even cut copper wire and thin aluminum sheeting with them.
