I never remember my dreams when I wake. Maybe once every couple years. Even then, I don't recall ever having a violent dream, but last night I did. Gruesomely violent. It's sort of got me weirded out this morning.

I remember my dreams when I wake up all the time... remembering it a month later is another matter.

Most of the times the dreams I remember are because they made absolutely no sense.

Example, in one dream I had there was a special edition 1984 Mustang called the "M2" that came with a Subaru flat 4. I have no clue where the hell that one came from. It just doesn't make any sense at all.

90% of the time, I remember my dreams, very vividly in fact.

About a third of the time, they are violent in some way. I often find myself KNOWING i am dreaming but will still continue on with the dream, this is scary especially since quite a lot of the time I am dreaming about someone killing me or chasing me.

As stupid as it sounds, I can equate what I dream to things going on in my life at the time. Also, I have dreamt of people whom I have not thought about or seen in a long while, yet as soon as I dream about them, they seem to "appear" in my life.

I mostly remember them.
Years ago, I played Kingpin a lot. I'd play till I was falling asleep then I'd go to bed and play in my dreams. Very violent.

Sounds like a cool dream.

I don't often remember dreams any more. I don't think I dream as much as I used to. It sucks because I would have great nightmares and they were like free scary movies with no commercials.

When I was a kid I remembered them more often, and they were usually like this - totally out of left field, bizarro stuff. Either that or totally mundane, like walking to school and nothing out of the ordinary happening.

I recall having a few 'premonition' dreams as a child, but the older I get the more I assume they were just deja vu type things.

Usually the dreams I remember are the survival horror ones, you know, me against a bunch of zombies or something. So yes, violent.

I remember one dream where I was shot in the neck and had to wait in line at the emergency room while holding my hand to my neck to stop the blood. And I really felt pain!

There have been other dreams where I've shot people (though the bullets had the effect of airsoft pellets) and where I've beaten them to bloody pulps (they all deserved it though).

Good times.

A lot of my dreams come true or are warnings for me.

One dream I had was of a girl I knew in school, she came up to me in my dream and told me her sister was drinking and that she hates her. A few days later, I asked her about her sister and she said her family found a keg in her sisters closet and that they have been fighting constantly.

Another dream I had was about a year or two ago, I had dreamt about my brother having twins. About two weeks ago we found out that his wife was pregnant with...twins! :D

Those are just some examples that I can remember, but many many of my dreams help me a lot and guide me.
Of course you have to separate the dreams that obviously have a meaning to the ones that dont, and you can usually tell if the dream means jibberish or not. Plus it helps if you have some sort of belief in a higher power :b

i frequently have very vivid dreams. most of them involve fear/violence/suspense. im on the run from someone, or chasing someone, or being attacked, or attacking. they don't usually make sense, or small parts will make sense that flow into another part that makes sense, but when you link them consciously they dont. sometimes i feel like a single dream lasts all night (know this is not true), and if I go back to sleep after waking up I can frequently get back INTO them. my dreams are usually like a great action/suspense/mystery movie. i am so used to being endangered that I just find it thrilling now and look forward to my dreams. since i have a hard time 'breaking' out of my dreams, i end up talking a lot while i sleep. also, things from real life will often insert themselves. just a couple weeks ago i was dreaming that i was playing darts with my brother and dad back at my childhood home (the twist was that the darts were actually tennis balls). anyways, my gf walks out of the house and asks 'what is that'. i was watching a tennis ball roll towards me on the ground so i said, a tennis ball. in REALITY, her laptop was spinning its harddrive for some reason and woke her up so she was asking me if i knew what that sound was! this stuff happens all the time!

I had a recurring nightmare where I was being chased by a huge city-clearing monster a couple months ago, but lately they've all been about girls I used to date, especially the ones that got away. I can almost always remember them very vividly for the first couple hours after I wake up, but they quickly fade. Strangely enough, I grind my teeth very badly at night, and I've noticed that when I wear my night guard I dream much more deeply. A little advice for those with bruxism...

My dreams usually come from things I do during the day. Lately I have been playing an MMO and my dreams reflect this. Kind of annoying actually. I keep grinding and grinding in my dream. It is almost a nightmare, lol. I also get dreams where I have to do something, and I never seem to finish, like walking home. Many times I will wake up thinking, "you idiot, its just a dream. stop it already, can't you just sleep?"

Oh and the dreams I hate the most are when something bad happens and it seems so real. I'll dream that I got in a car accident, or I'm out of control and about to crash. Even just someone taking a baseball bat to my car. i feel very relieved when I wake up.
