First, thanks for responding. I think dreams are important, and everyone should learn to understand them and appreciate the gifts they bring.

Second, My Good Dream. I've had lots of neat, strange, mystical, odd, etc. kinds of dreams, but this one was the best.

I was about 16 years old and in a lot of emotional pain.

I dreamed I was climbing a mountain. It was a rough, hard climb. I got all scratched up... I was really struggling.

I got to the top and saw a tower.

The tower had a spiral staircase... up I climbed.

A door was at the top, and in this door a Light.

In this light was a Man. The Most Beautiful Man I have ever seen.

He handed me two things: a sword and a white robe.

He spoke to me with no words... he told me I had to Go Back Down.

I didn't want to leave Him!

Obviously I had no choice in the matter. :)

I went back down and found myself by the sea.

There were other people there. I didn't know them yet, but I knew we were all waiting.

The stars shone in the nighttime sky like jewels.

....and that was the end of the dream.

It sustains me to this day.

Crazy? I don't know. All I know is that dream stayed inside me, and I remembered it for the first time in a long time today.

Thanks. :)

edit:

It took a lot of courage to post this. I'm not saying I understand the dream, only that I had it and it made me feel good.

So, save your religious arguments for another thread or

I will be your worst nightmare!!!!

Again, thanks for your consideration. ;)

Nowadays my oniric incursions deal mostly with a dreamy celtic princess with a crown of flaming red locks, the most beautiful green eyes in the multiverse and the most inviting lips I have ever seen. :)

Isla, or anyone for that matter - do you keep a pen and paper at your bedside to write down your dreams as soon as you wake up. I once tried this, but found that when I did wake up (in the middle of the night), I couldn't really be bothered to write down what I had just dreamt, preferring instead to just nod off again.

I tend to dream about things that have happened to me, or things that are perhaps due to happen to me in the coming weeks. Occasionally I have a few wacky far out dreams involving supernatural shenanigans, but these are very rare. I can't for the life of me remember the last time I had an actual nightmare.

Oh, and btw - I've never dreamt about the forums ;)

I've heard of people who were motivated to do great things by dreams. I had a dream where I was going out with Christina Aguilera and to this day it motivates me to become famous enough to actually meet her. Well, actually no, she's to ghetto for me (what's up with that), but still it could have motivated me.

I don't sleep well enough to dream.

Although I do remember this dream once about standing at the top of a tower on top of this mountain....;)

The dream sounds like you have everything under control.

Running away from something often means avoiding one's emotions or sexuality, or anxiety connected with it.

Methinks you are an honorable lad who is working to control his baser impulses. A true man in progress.

Hey, you asked. I told you that you could PM me. ;)

Well, I've had a lot of deja vu from dreams, mostly little things. Opening a locker, reading a book, talking to somebody - they come and pass pretty quickly, but I think damn, I've dreamed this exact thing before.

The only dream I've ever that wasn't positive was one where I was hiding in a park, someone found me, and shot me in the forehead. The weirdest thing is I was dead, but I felt myself hit the ground.

I too was confronted with a similar dream. I was somehow running away from someone -- I couldn't tell who it was, because each time I look @ who is after me, the person seems to change. One minute, it's a stranger, the other time I look it's my friend. At the end of the chase, I stumble and the next thing I know, this gun barrel is in front of my face. In the posterior of the gun, is my older sister! I blink, and then wake up from the nightmare.

As odd as it may sound, I've had other absurd dreams... I think I'll just PM those over to Isla...

I was walking with my friends down a street, then we meet this girl. Pretty average. She then tried to break my elbow by bending it in the wrong direction. So then I pull off her arms (I think she was pretty weak), and then I showed her how to do it, on her arm!? And then when I did, I snapped her forearm off. She didn't scream or anything, she just pulled out a fuking garden spade out of nowhere! (The hand-sized ones) She started chasing me, and telling me what she would do to me. My friends went one way, and I went the other, because I thought they were following me! Then I woke up

I think your dream is telling you that you must reclaim the throne of France in the name of the Dauphin.

I know you are a good person. Italianos are my favorite people! I have special powers that help me discern these things. :D And yes, it was fun... I like helping people understand their dreams.

Peace!

Isla:

To answer my own question that you returned to me: Yes, I believe that some dreams are more than human archetypes and the human subconscious. A few contain a truly objective element, good or evil, divine or demonic.

OK here goes, I had a dream about a week ago that was really odd, so here i go:

It started off at a gas station where i was pumping gas into my car, a couple a min after that a couple of hot chicks pull up in a car, on gets out and starts pumping, the other just sits there. At this point i go into the place to pay, i left my windows down and doors unlocked, as im paying i happen to glace at my car and notice that one of the chicks in there messing with the console, so run out, but its too late and she has already got it started, so she peels out and leaves, then the other chick leaves in her too. OK so now im really pissed and start yelling and sh!t, then i start running through an apartment complex i used to live in and some lady asks me to stop running cause she doesnt like it? its like 2 in the morning mind you, after that i end up at a supermarket and spot my car in the lot, i try to start it but she screwed up the ignition, then this guy comes up and tries to hit me or something, i try to fight back but its like slowmo for me, so i start running, then some guys ive never met before help me beat the sh!t out of guy.

OK after that it ended, you cant tell me that is friggin wierd. Any help would be nice

I tell you dreams under the influence of opiates are strange - you have full control over them & can manipulate everything. Other times you can be in the middle of a conversation & go into some dreamworld & you start talking to someone in the dream & the bloke you're talking to in the real world will ask what the fuk your babbling on about, & then you blink & things are back to reality & you've forgotten whaty the little 'nod' was all about. I even remember typing away on the computer & going into a nod & dreaming I was playing Quake, either that or I was actually in the game like that bloke with the cigar. I can't remember now.

Also sometimes you know you're dreaming & just go along with it anyway & none of the bizarre things scare you as you go 'bah its only a dream'...

With normal dreams I really enjoy them & get pissed off when someone wakes me up & interrupts them, then within 1 minute I've forgotten what it was about.

Last night I dreamed that I was being strangled and I felt an intense pain in my neck. I woke up and fell back asleep really quickly. I woke up this morning and I could barely move my head without intense pain. It took me about 20 minutes just to get out of pain without severely hurting myself. Turns out I have a viral infection in my neck (something to do with a cold I had). Strange I dreamed about last night...

Here is a dream related to me by the postman's podiatrist..

I arrived in Indian Rocks Beach after hitchin a ride on the back of a leatherneck turtle. As repayment, I had to help dig the hole to lay the eggs ( & promise to stay & point to the "real lite" ).

I walked up & down the streets, shouting " where is the island ? "...no answers... Then the Marine Patrol came & took me away to a very dark place... they kept asking me "how do you know about the real lite" & "where are the black square grouper hidden ?"

They also kept asking... do you know the Cubano handshake ?

All I could say was "black beans & rice", and " Mi perro desea las pulgas, por favor y Fidel es mi amigo del retrete"

they faded away....

Then a big storm came up... it got very foggy... I was high in the air.. there were steel girders all around me, I heard a funny sound like tires on a steel grate... a crunchy grinding noise.... Then into the water....

a small voice, like an angel said, you ain't even close, BUD.

What does this mean ?

I remember two dreams in particular, not to mention the standard dreams about flying.

#1. I'm in a mansion-sized house. In this house I am wondering from room to room. Each room contains a doorway of some sort, to another room. Sometimes the doors are regular human-sized doors. Sometimes they are dwarf-sized, sometimes they are trap doors in the floor. But they always lead to another room or secret passage. I never make it out of the house before I wake up.

#2. It's a post-apocalyptic world, where most of civilization is gone. I am with one of many groups of individuals wandering around in this strange world. Sometimes we are out in an open field or wooded area, sometimes we're in a city that's mostly deserted, buildings are half gone..... I remember, in particular, hiding under an expressway with a group of raggedy-looking people (I'm assuming I'm just as raggedy as they are), hiding from what I'm not entirely sure. I never know exactly what we're looking for as we wander around, and we never really find anything of great importance before I wake up.

Any significant meaning to these? -kd5-

I have a dream where I kill babies and eat them.. I think this means that I work better alone and need to work on being a team player at the office.

Actually, you are probably right. Babies often sybolize the creative process/creativity. You eat it up. :) Sounds like you have a good grip on your own dream symbolism. Good deal.

BTW

All those who sent me dreams to interpret: I should get back to all of you by Sunday night.

Peace!
