Dreams and pain

So I had a dream last night that I was walking but fell down due to sudden pain in my foot. In typical dream fashion I just needed to remove a bone from my foot and I was able to continue walking just with a slight limp from the pain. But that got me thinking about it - I don't recall feeling any other physical or tactile sensation in dreams. I don't feel the rain or whatever I'm walking on or someones hand on my arm etc. Yet my brain got the pain sensation right

A pain is merely a warning sign that something is wrong. I am sure the brain is capable of simulating this in dreams.

Maybe you had a cramp in your foot at the time?

I would say it is odd that you do not feel any of that other stuff while dreaming...

When I come down with a migraine while I'm sleeping I usually end up getting some sort of head injury during my dream. I feel the pain from my headache in my dreams, and it's definitely different than the other normal sensations as part of the dream. I always chalked it up to the headache being real.

Come to think of it I don't really feel pain either in dreams. Kinda odd. I will feel fear if the situation warrants it, but even then I tend to be quite passive in dreams and not really all that scared even of a bad situation.

Had a dream that I was being eaten by a bear or something and could see my intestines being pulled out and thinking "well this kind of sucks, oh well. ". But not more than that lol.

You got Tanya Hardinged for real while you slept and your brain cooked up the dream to account for the pain.

Yeah, I guess the same for me. Other feelings are generally very dull, outside the head pain caused by a forming migraine. Though I've generally had pretty good control over my dreams, when I actually remember them. I don't often remember dreams, but when I do I'm vaguely aware that I am dreaming. For example, when something goes poorly in my dream, I "rewind" it and try again. Maybe it's video games lol.

It's weird when you become aware of a dream. Sometimes I dream of something in a IRL location but that location in dreams is slightly different. Like in my house the door to the basement is not at the same place. So I'll go to go in the basement but the door is not there, then it's like "ohhh right, this is a dream, the door is actually over there". It's weird.

Same with certain streets, in dreams they might be a bit different so I will be able to tell that I'm dreaming because of it. Or buildings etc.

Yeah, it is stuff like that which generally clues me in, or in one of those "back in high school" or similar type dreams I'll know it's a dream due to being aware of my age. Sometimes I dream in a third person perspective, which is obviously a give away. Makes me wonder what is going on in the dreams that I don't remember, as I said earlier I'm aware I'm dreaming in almost every dream that I do remember. I only remember a few a month though.

Omg I get those school dreams all the time. They vary, but usually revolves around the idea that I had to go back for some reason, like they found an accounting mistake and my diploma is not actually valid so I have to go back to make it valid again, or something along those lines. Typically I can't find my locker or remember my combo. Sometimes it's the first day of school, but in other versions it's later in the year. Sometimes I also run into an assignment and realized I have not been to that class for months, I somehow been forgetting to go, then I panic. All weird stuff like that.

Always a relief to wake up and realize I don't go to school anymore. :p

What about that dream where you really have to pee and you walk up to a urinal.... Do you feel the urge to go just before you wet the bed?

Recently I've had that dream a few times....urinated in the dream, but luckily held it out here in the real world. I always feel like I dodge a bullet when I wake up from one of those dreams dry in my adult life. ;)

I get pee dreams a lot too, but I have Paruresis IRL, so in the dreams I have it too and I always have trouble going as I'll be in a situation where there's people around. Sometimes I will succeed though, but then I'll keep having to go. Eventually I do wake up and have to go IRL. Thankfully, never peed the bed. :p

I usually wake up if its bad pain in a dream. Like once i had a dream i was a special ops guy and we were repelling down from a chopper and my line broke and i fell to the ground, i woke up at the second of impact and was freaked out that i had actually hurt myself.

Another dream i was hunting and got shot by another hunter who mistook me for a deer somehow even though i was wearing a orange vest. I woke up as soon as the bullet hit and my chest hurt right where i had been shot in the dream.

Not knowing my class schedule is usually my go to school dream.

I can't recall ever having a pee dream lol.
