And after the helos blew away all the aliens on the ground, they decided to self detruct it to kill those people so they couldn't tell others about them.

.

**spolier**

I thought the ship just *morphed* to destroy some of those helos. I didn't interpret that they imploded themselves. They were a sporish alien that could morph into any shape. I just saw their ship consisting of the same material.

I didn't interpret Duditts arriving 30 years ahead of time to eventually catch up with Mr. Grey on Earth. If Duditts was after Grey the whole time, he wouldn't *wait* 30 years to get at him. You know how much *damage* Mr. Grey could do in 30 years on different planets.

And Just b/c Duditts kills Grey at the end of the movie, that still leaves a whole bunch of infected animals--despite those military screens they set up. This leaves for a stupid sequeal as rationally, these sporish aliens would take over the world regardless. There was just toooo much infection to stop this alien organism from infesting the world..........................UNLESS Grey is the father and when *he* dies, his brtheren die.

LOL! There is just so many unanswered questions.

Can some please enlighten?.........

Not sure bout the ships I really need to see this movie, but in the book the aliens did nothing just got killed and i believe that the @$$ that morgan played shot at another heli to make it go down? *i think* caused the Lt. to get infected. In the book dudditts was just a slow child that the boys befriended. He helps them chase Mr Grey down with his abnormal powers right when they get close to the goal he dies from different ailments that affect him, cant believe they changed it to duddits kills Mr Grey that plot sucks I liked the original of how it was done better.

Damn.

Oh well. I had hoped the movie would be good. I enjoyed the book and I really like Morgan Freeman.

Thanks for the warning.

Yup, in the conflict, Grey morphs into a monstrous bad-ass alien and stabs Duditts in the heart with his pincer-like tail. Duditts then morphs into a different alien species (at least it looked that way) and destroys himself and Grey with some form of energy net.

Since these aliens are sporish in nature and can turn gaseous in a split of a second, I *don't* see how any gun or bomb can stop them from taking over the world. I guess that's why Duditts made an "energy net" to prevent Grey from sporing and escaping........that still leaves a gaping problem with the alien ship with all those almost invulnerable aliens.

That's NOT how the book ended!

Damn a HATE when Hollywood fvcks with books like that!!

BTW: The aliens (greys) were possessed by another alien form. The spores. Duddis was just mentally retarded, but "Gifted". He and the other boys had developed a mind link with one another during childhood. The sh!tweasels were like the organisms that live in our digestive tracts that help brake down food, but in this environment they grew LARGE. The sh!tweasels were passed to humans through either spores or from ingesting the moss-like substance that was growing in the woods. The sh!tweasels where responsible for the metal telepathy that was happening with the humans. (Excluding the group of friends, who already HAD it from childhood)

LOL! Exacty!

They have changed EVERY book I've ever read that has been made into a movie.

I was *extremely* angry when they changed the ending chase scenes in "The Firm". If they would have kept true to the book, "The Firm" would have been a classic movie. Instead, it was some half-ass POS "client-attorney privilege" ending. :disgust: The producers said they would have run over budget with the 30 minute chase scenes.........well..........cut over-rated Tom Cruise's salary or take some other *better* actor for 1/8 rate and keep **TRUE** to the story!

The Shawshank Redemption practically used the book as it's script (they did add in some stuff to expand the warden's character though), and look at how well that movie went. You think they'd learn huh?

haha, i'm glad i saved a lot of people from seeing this movie. it was stupid and not because i expect everything to be spoon fed for me. in fact, i usually like movies that are confusing and hard to understand. but this was just a dumb movie. another plot hole i would like to bring up was how it was so easy for jonesy to escape the quarantined area....wouldn't someone else be able to do so as well, very easily? also, i would like to know why it was titled dreamcatcher. sure, they all made this dreamcatcher together but it's not like any of them had nitemares right? and it's not like the dreamcatcher had magical powers that helped them save the world.

[spoon] You missed the symbolism of the entire thing. When they made the dreamcatcher, it was a big Duddits circle surrounded by 4 smaller circles, each made by the other guys. It was a symbol of their bond. [/spoon]

That doesn't make sense. What does being in a circle that looks like a dreamcatcher have anything to do with their bond?

I took it as they were each others dreamcatchers.

They helped each other get through the troubles in life, like true friends would.

They sewed the 4 guys together around duddits. Remember when they tried to find the girl, the 4 guys stood together around duddits? And more metaphorically, duddits was the keystone of what they had together.

I never read the book and saw Dreamcatchers knowing absolutely nothing about it, but I enjoyed the movie. Heck, I wasn't planning on seeing it at all -- a mix of traffic, long lines, ticket machine jam, having to be someplace else afterwards, etc. fubarred my original plan to see the Core.

But by the end of the movie, I couldn't help but wonder: who the heck is Duddit's mom? Was she also some alien? Did she pull a Martha Kent and pluck a baby Duddits from a cornfield? What?!? Was this explained in the book? :p

But anyway, the visuals and camera work weren't noticably distracting and there are plot holes that a 2 hour movie just doesn't have the luxury of filling. Given that, I still think it was an enjoyable movie and worth the matinee price.

What I know now about the movie after watching it, I'd wait until cable--it's that bad.

I saw people leaving the theater throught the movie (usually older people, since they have no patience and are set in their ways).

Never have I witnessed so many people leave a movie since "He-Man" starring Dolph Lungren back in the day.

i thought morgan freeman's eyebrow's was the alien!!! :p

honestly, i enjoy king's books and to a lesser-extent, the movies adapted from his books. dreamcatcher film-wise belongs in the dude-where's-my-car-category. plot-holes galore, and the end just makes you want to stand up and scream 'WTF?!?!!?'. me and my friends just looked at each other, showed a dissapointed look, and left the theatre. there was a neat scene though that i enjoyed, the part where tom sizemore and morgan freeman and the other helicopters were shooting down at the aliens and their spaceship, and the aliens are conveying their messages 'dont hurt us' and such, the voices come in the rear surround speakers and also jump to the front speakers, giving the illusions they're all around. thought that was neat. jason lee also. most under-utilized actor in hollywood. well, utilized in poor movies. other than that, didnt enjoy it, animatrix short flick didnt do much for me either. animation was tight, but **spoiler** sentinels arriving, girl goes in matrix, drops box, everyone dies. maybe because it was late already and i has work in the morning and i just wanted to start the movie and go home. oh well. my 2 cents.
