Dreamcasts are underrated

You can buy a dreamcast for about £15 with a shedload of games, thats like $30! Now I have no desire to buy one as it aint about to compete with Oblivion on 1920x1200, but surely poor people should BUY these things! Are they really that bad?

Dreamcast is one of my favorite consoles... It had many excellent titles in almost every genre. It is especially fantastic if you are a fan of fighting games.

That's pretty much the consensus in this forum. Everyone who owns one loves it. I've never had the opportunity to buy one but if I see one somewhere, I'll definitely get it.

Yeah, the Dreamcast was awesome. IMO, it was the best console of its generation. But I think the sheer volume of PS games, the launch of the PS2 and the ease of pirating DC games was its downfall...unfortunately.

dreamcast gets more credit than due.
outside of a few great games the library was hopelessly generic.
Dustcast.
ive owned many, from an import before they came to the us, up til last year.
the dreamcast is better when you dont have it.

I owned a Dreamcast for about two years and I only had three games the entire time: Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Quake 3 & Virtua Tennis. I was never bored and I regret getting rid of it every day.

I  my Dreamcast. I was seriously upset when I realized I could no longer use my light gun with my LCD TV. :(

VGA connector FTW though :D

I managed to lose mine. I haven't seen it for about 4 years. It has to be boxed up somewhere around the house. Pretty cool console, but I didn't like the controllers.

Great system. Also, my GF wanted one REAL bad so that she could play rival schools or project justice (I forget which one is on DC). I bought it for her including like 7 games, and she would not stop "rewarding" me for weeks.

Protip: Get your gamer girlfriend a DC and games FTW

I still love my Dreamcast. There was plenty of Toy Commander split screen, and Looney Tunes racing back in it's day at my place. There really were a lot of fun games for it.

I still got the black sports version in the closet. It's practically brand new. I also got another controller and memory card factory sealed in my closet. They're worthless. I guess it's all right considering the games are so cheap they're pracitcally free. ;) Nothing great though. Virtua Tennis, i never got into. The rpgs on it were complete garbage. The game we played the most was capcom vs snk 2. im not sure if it's worth the 80 i spent on it.

Yea, it was great.

That all didn't really happen though until the console was well on its way out (self booting discs anyways though).

Too bad too, it was a really nice console, the graphics were nice and sharp.
