So how does amazon.com figure the list of this is $149, when it's officially $49 now, and has been at $79 for quite awhile? lol

Target is selling them at that price if you can find them. Toys R Us is dropping them to that price on the 23rd.

toyrus sold one to me at 49.99. I'm lucky yesterday when I saw a women with few kids asking for 49.9 and the staff there agreed to lower the price.I grab one straight away to the cashier and check out for 53.9 including tax.

Sega is liquidating the Dreamcasts. Here's the news.. Apprently, you can use a software title called Bleem to play Playstation 1 games, here's the news on that... has any one tried Bleem on a Dreamcast?

Some nice deals in here. Wish I had waited, but it was good. Did better than my N64 collecting dust from the day I bought that.

I think I'm gonna pick one up at this price :)

Also, with the proper adapters, you can hook up a VGA monitor (very high quality compared w/ TV), a broadband connection, and a PS/2 keyboard and mouse.

If I remember correctly, Sega modified the newer Dreamcasts so they can't easily play games burned on CD-R. Does anyone know any sites with info on how to get these to play games burned on CD-R's?

Please quit asking for where to find DC backups. It's not allowed on here. If you have access to IRC, Usenet, or DirectConnect, you'll find them easy enough yourself.

Too bad Sega stopped making consoles and Bleem went out of businiess. Dreamcast is great hardware, and it's hilarious that DC can play PS1 games better than PS2.

The Toys R' Us on Brown Deer Road in Milwaukee has Dreamcasts for $49 or the Dreamcast + NFL2k1/NBA2k1/World Series 2k1 all for $69.

This was as of today, Wednesday.

I don't think anyone here is looking for sites that have DC backups, all we want to know is how to get games burned on CD-R to work with the new Dreamcasts made after November 2001. There is a special way of doing it, and I remember seeing a great site a couple months ago with all this info - I just don't remember the URL. Can anyone help out? :)

Also, how can I find out when my new DC was made?

Why do you think this great console was discontinued? Piracy played a major role in it.

With the original games so damn cheap now -- $5-$10 most anywhere -- I don't see why you're so worried about "backups".
