Ok, my post is fairly simple and SURE to invoke flame after flame after flame. However, I'm willing to take that risk to get the best possible bang for the buck.

I have built PC's before....WAY in the past ending around the PII era. I'm not un-familiar with building. However, it's been a while as stated. What I would like to know from you all is this...

I want the best PC for my buck. And I want YOU to help me build it with your opinions. What would you build if given a $2000 meager budget (no monitor, I have three)?

I am going to customize the case myself, so, don't give me a case recommendation. I will post the finished product on here for all to see and drool over. Here are some of my wants, however, they are suggestions (except AMD, I'm an AMD fan).

AMD chip
1GB Ram (at least)
160GB HD (at least)
Doom III quality video card capable of dual monitor output
DVD RW
The Best Sound (7.1 not a necessity)
10/100
Winblows XP

Those are some of my ideas, now I'd love to hear from you. Tweaks? Extras? Cabling? You tell me what you would put in your PC. I want quality for this pup.

The case I'm going to custom paint myself, slice up and put some neon in various areas (I'm thinking a city scape with actual lighting in the buildings and stop lights).

Ok, start picking your brains. I'm itching to hear what you have to say. Flame away if you must, however, I think this would be an interesting project and would hate to see it turn into a flame thread.

Thanks

Well the day that the NF4 comes out one of those, the maxium GB RAM (DDR2 prolly) the board can handle. A RAID setup with 4 450GB hard drives. The fastest DVD burner, fastest CD burner, and fastest CD reader. Biggest PSU that OCZ makes. A huge Aluminum server case, (prolly a xaser III supertower for me) A home built water cooling system from me. A 6800 Ultra Extreme SLI setup PCI-E. A couple to Dell 2001fps to boot or whatever's good in the future. A MX1000 wouldn't be too bad either.
