Dram Setting at 133, on pc133 ram, when i overclock its unstable?

I have a tbird 900 on a A7v with 128megs Micron pc133 Ram, in the bios, i put my Dram setting to 133, and when i overclock to 1050, it is unstable, then when i set Dram to 100, and overclock to 1050, it is rock solid. Why is this, i am runnin my ram 2-2-2. Any tips? Also, is it bad for ram to get hot? And what are the benifits to putting a fan on a chipset?

Are you upping the bus speed to 117mhz to get that speed or changing the multiplier? If your upping the bus thats probably the problem. I think when you set the ram to 133 your really setting it to +33 over whatever the fsb is so your pc133 would be running at 150mhz. You might try setting your ram to 3-3-3 to see if that gets it stable.
Forgot to add the reason it would be stable when you set the ram to 100 is at 100 its really just setting the ram = to the fsb so it would only be running at 117mhz.
Just my guess.

i do 10.0 x 105 =1050mhz, what will be the diffrence if i run my ram at 3-3-3
when i do auto, it puts ram at 3-2-2

Hi,

normally it should be programmed in the SPD how fast the settings
for the RAM can be.
If the Auto setting uses 3-2-2 for PC133, then it means, that your ram is specified only to CL3 for 133MHz but it should do the other parameters (tRP and tRCD) with 2 clocks.

Fan on the chipset? have never heard, that a chipset is having problems with heat issues.

FAN / Heatsink on the DIMMS ? Can theoretically improve performance,
but I have never seen any tests. Depends how hot your DIMMs are while
running. I don't think, that actual 64Mbit or 128Mb devices are having
really heat problems .They are specified up to 55C/65C (Intel/Jedec) environment. If you are running them in a normal environment they shouldnt have a temp. problem.
