The contrast of trash hating on someone much better than them, and hating on someone not better than them can't be more stark. No surprise why you see Trump and Obama as somehow equivalent.
I don't see Trump and Obama as somehow equivalent. But it appears that racism involving Trump is much more palatable to you than the same regarding Obama. Why is that?

It was a she. And I'm not sure about the trailer park. But you can see the irony of a mayor from rural West Virginia looking down on a well-spoken graduate of Harvard and Princeton, who is by all accounts a nice person, and also happens to be the First Lady of the United States. It boggles the mind.
You can put lipstick on a pig...but it's still a pig.

The bigotry Trump panders to is a blight on our national character & an attack on common decency. That can't be said of Obama.

You can put lipstick on a pig...but it's still a pig.

I don't think Donald wears lipstick. That doesn't stop him from being a pig of a human being.

Your argument of just 1 post ago says otherwise, but I guess that guy is a liar so it doesn't count.

It's not racist to think a guy who got his billionaire inheritance from literally racist housing policy is no better than trailer trash. But hey, Obama is the same thing so bubba's not racist either.

that's because you choose to ignore history and act is if all is equal in society.

your "black trailer trash" reference says a lot more than you think, you are the swamp.

you are a racist scumbag, and it's clear quite a few posters agree with this assessment.

In fairness I don't think Doc Savage is racist as much as apologizes for them while milking their benefits like much of GOP.

I don't think he's racist at all. He's a victim of motivated reasoning, but so are most people.

smart people will accept when they are wrong

Frequently no. Smart people are good marks because once you convince them they'll defend their beliefs and they're smart so they can come up with better sounding rationalizations. Intellectual honesty is a different trait entirely and requires active effort.

Good point.

People I know keep telling me "give him a chance". But I have less and less enthusiasm all the time.

So, it begins the U.S is becoming a banana republic. The founding fathers must be rolling over in their graves. 239 years of democracy was a good run. RIP 1776-2017.

Don't worry, the Republicans are going to be so bigly and perfectly ethical that we don't need that committee anymore. Just believe them. Believe them! that's all we need to do from now on. No more of this talk of "results!" that they demanded for the last 8 years. We are back to the stage of belief, yet again and unsurprisingly, when it comes to governance. Just to believe the things they say they are doing despite the evidence of your lack of a job, good wages, standing ankle deep in your own sewage.

In fact, the republicans are going to shove so much ethics down our throats simply from their big words and good brain legislating that we are going to get sick of ethics. This is just cutting costs!

Yeah, there really is no validity to the "give him a chance" sentiment. It's never going to happen. A 70 yr old with textbook NPD, no grasp of facts, no interest in learning, isn't going to just magically change his spots one day.

I mean, he just sold tickets worth $420k to the NYE parties at Mar-a-whatever with the money going into his for profit org, an astounding ethical breach. So even if we were giving him a chance, he's failed before he even took office.

The official White House tour for the next 4 years is going to initially divert the group into the gift shop selling only Trump "steaks" and Trump "wine."

And Mexican-made Trump "ties"
