And so it begins. If something like net neutrality falls, will they be coming after the free press next?
It's pretty obvious that Trump only likes press that makes him look good and agrees with his ideas. He's in for a rough ride, and with his comments about the press, just digging a deeper hole for himself. It's already entertaining.

^This is not a theology thread, however, the Catholic church teaches that Jesus makes up part of the Holy Trinity - God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Jesus is part of God Himself.
I have some bad news for you sir, you fail the litmus test of 1 John 4:1-2 so please stop calling yourself a Christian. Clearly you possess religion in lieu of salvation like the parable of the virgins without oil in their lamps.

There is more to life than politics. You are not a politician who is winning and losing. Why are you so identified with politics so much?
Because the government is by far the country's largest employer. Throw in government contractors, government spending, regulatory and economic policies, trade and foreign policies, legislative agenda, etc etc and just about everyone's jobs are influenced by who's in control in Washington.
Like the landslide for Clinton in California, what's more likely? That California loves socialism and illegal immigrants or that a trade war with China and a curtailment in clean energy subsidies are going to cost them jobs?

Actually I think neither are true. You would be given a relatively high bar to the average american voter if you thought people were voting based on foreign policy and intimate knowledge of federal subsidies.

BTW that doesn't mean people aren't able to make the right decision either, even if they aren't weighing all the potential information available for them.

California loves socialism. Most people here are not in clean energy jobs, contrary to your lame stereotypes. You'd think we all work for Solyndra or Tesla here. Trade wars will be an enormous incentive for automation and technology. Look at the Carrier situation. Keeping some jobs for now, but spending $15M on tech to automate them away in the future. That's what you will see. The beauty of technology is that a lot of it is fixed costs, so the more buyers there are, the cheaper it gets, and the more buyers it draws in. It's a virtuous cycle, which you can now enjoy watching from the outside looking in.

You assume the ability to buy, something dependent on the very jobs being automated away. W/o alternate ways to create purchasing power it's just part of the race to the bottom.

I can't think of a single successful company that hasn't been employing automation to reduce manufacturing costs. People need to wake up to the reality that is around them and adapt to the changing environment or they will be left in its wake.

Draining the swamp really should start with reducing war expenditures. War is the most consistent driver of increased government spending and taxes.

And Trump is talking about enlarging the armed forces. Even if he manages to keep the US out of war, the fact that he enlarges the military would give too much temptation for the next president to go on militaristic crusades.

Maybe they can give TBN a huge office in the White House for the religious right to operate out of to give their blessings of the war machine on a daily basis. Jerry Falwell can stand with him as he promotes crony capitalism in the name of God elevating all of this friends to new heights and prosperity while the working people perish.

Let's see, we have the following people in key positions:

Oil CEO
Goldman Sachs top man
Zionist "hawk" as Israel ambassador
Other donors in certain positions

So yes, the swamp is being drained but what is it being filled with afterwards? Same old junk?

The swamp isn't being drained. The biggest crocodiles are taking over, that's all. Big and hungry, too.

A Kellyanne clone, apparently. There's also Katrina Pierson, somebody who's obviously utterly insincere, as well.

He coulda had the Sarah! Maybe he still will.

Trump fulfilled his promise. He drained the swamp. Now he is filling the swamp with his water.

There is no law saying he has to have a whitehouse press. He could literally never communicate with the press.

His voters apparently had some silly notion he'd create dry land. Apparently not

When they say drain the swamp I think they mean all the workers and things in those agencies. They want to break these agencies.

Not a difficult promise to keep seeing that almost every appointee gets the boot with every new administration and many get the boot with the second term of a President. Basically, every President drains the swamp. The swamp creatures move back into their respective think tanks and wait for the next change of the water.

Of course they do! Neutralizing the agencies will allow rich Republican business owners to begin saving money through reduced oversight and relaxed worker protections. This is a Republican wet dream come true and they don't give a damn about working people at all. The fact that so many uneducated working people bought into their rhetoric during the campaign is a travesty. Just wait until they get their hands on the reigns of power. I look for gas prices to continue to climb so his rich oil company executives can start drilling again for profit instead of just sitting on all of those wells they were forced to close when prices fell.
