You mean Vegeta referring to Goku's power level when he was tooling on Nappa?

Why is Emmy Rossum in this movie??

Hasn't anyone told her that if she wants to be taken seriously she needs to get naked in a film???

Look at Anne Hathaway... got naked, then got an Oscar nomination.

Come on Emmy you can do it too!!! :)

That sort of rings a bell now :p

I saw the film, pretty lame, felt like such a b movie...I hope the next one is better.

Yamcha was pretty much how I'd imagine his character. Master Roschi I like the bikini reference, pretty good :p but the rest of the film was a bit cack...

I got to get around to buying the cartoons and watching them again. I remember enjoying them on the cartoon network but f0ck me did some of the battle scenes drag on and on. It should be more enjoyable not having to wait a week until his next fighting stance/ move :p

It will never not be lame, because of the idea of it being Dragonball Evolution. They're not trying to give fans a silver screen Dragonball, they're trying to create a fresh, hip, new Dragonball for this age that people can "associate with." Why do you think the beginning was all emo with Goku in school and such? That's also why they had no qualms with changing things around.

They turned Goku from a playful, carefree kid into a whiny little bitch. They removed Pilaf and let Mai serve Piccolo (lolwut?). They made Piccolo supposedly attack Earth twice and once with the Oozaru (lolwut*9001?). Piccolo only attacked the Earth once and that was during the Dragonball era while Goku was a teen. Piccolo being a spawn of "God" (note, the character's name being Kami-sama, which is Japanese for "God") and representing the evil side of him manifested as a sentient being.

But they also lost a lot of the essence of the show and what made it fun. The atmosphere was complete gone.

How can you even say this? Yamcha's character was second worst compared to Goku! He could never get near Bulma during the original Dragonball because of his fear of women and this is also why he could never steal their stuff during the series. He fought with Goku for awhile at first and pretty much left once he realized that there was also a girl around.

In the series, Yamcha likes Bulma and Bulma likes Yamcha, but the fact that he could never really do anything with her (because of his fear), Bulma pretty much moved on during the Z era.

Roshi was a little off still... he was a perv, but not nearly as much as he should've been. If it were any close to the way the original worked, he would've asked to see Bulma's bosoms (in the series he asks to see her panties, in which she didn't know she wasn't wearing any) in order to help them :p.

Maybe you ought to watch the original Dragonball (it's only 152 episodes vs Dragonball Z's 291) and see what the movie should've been. Dragonball has quite a bit of humor in it (more so in the beginning) than Z does.

I got the idea that they wanted to do it different and hence the evolution bit :p but it felt too short and it was. The fight scenes were a bit naff also.

I definately didn't like what tyey did to Goku as you described it.

I was definately like WTF at the Oozaru and how they were using it as I didn't remember watching it like that man in DBZ!

I meant Yamcha in the way he spoke and acted. Not necessarily how he behavd around Bulma.

Yeah Roshi wasn't as big a perv but then the film was hardly a 15 or 18 :p.

Funnily enough I never really got in to DB and I really enjoyed DBZ and DBGT :) man those Sagas were bad ass!

I'm going to source them out on DVD so I can watch them one after each other now :D

Yeah, the fight scenes were far and few in between and really weren't much... I think the "tight rope" fight at the beginning with Gohan was the best fight in the entire movie. That probably says enough.

Yeah... I mean Goku didn't even care about women in the same way as he was pretty much oblivious to what exactly being with a woman meant and thus had no problem touching them in inappropriate places to see if they have balls (touching them there is his way of finding out if someone is a female or not in Dragonball :p).

The Oozaru was pretty much just butchered as they eventually just cut off Goku's tail in Dragonball to stop him from transforming again (this being episode... 15 I think?) Although if I remember correctly, the tail grew back and they eventually pulled it out. Also, the monkey form was more like Bigfoot, which was rather lame... in the manga/anime, the form is more like King Kong.

I donno, he may've been close to the dub version, but his voice was incredibly hick-ish and was a tad bit annoying. It actually felt like I was watching a dub listening to him talk. He did act a bit brash and was a thief just like in the series, but he didn't have that amusing inability to be around women that made his character more fun.

The problem here is that was one of Roshi's most amusing points.

Dragonball is awesome, but for a totally different reason. In the beginning, Dragonball starts off very light-hearted with a little bit of action, but still enough humor to keep it fun ( it's very much like Dr. Slump if you've ever seen that ), but Dragonball actually gets more and more into the heavy fighting near the end. With that, you may actually like Dragonball if you can keep watching it. The first tournament (budokai) starts off pretty early in the show... probably around episode 20 or so?

GT was more of an abomination in my opinion because they completely ruined the bad-ass-ness of Gogeta. If you've seen Movie 12, you'll know that the Gogeta combination was the "srs bsns" fusion of Goku and Vegeta that killed Janemba in about 10 seconds.

I watched the 13 DBZ anime movies and it was fun to watch. Definately less drawn out then the anime series as that was painful at times. I was use to watching it once a day for 25minutes :p
