Dragon+ Random Reboot

I've been having a random reboot problem with my System. First and almost everytime I try to play a game, and also when I was transferring some files. Anyone have this issue with the Dragon+?

My system specs are: Dragon+, XP1800, 768mb of Crucial PC2100 DDR, Leadtek GeForce 2 GTS 64mb, Using the Onboard Audio, IBM 7200rpm 60GB Primary Drive. Pioneer DVD Drive.

Forgot to add, that I'm using Win2000 Pro, thinking about switching to XP Pro.

I had a TBird1200 on a MSI board before this system and it was 10x more stable.

you may want to verify that its not the power supply (the k7s5a has major random reboot problems if the power supply isnt up to par) i know you dont have a k7s5a, but its something to check

also you said you have 768mb of ram, is that by way of (3) 256mb sticks? (some boards lose stability if all 3 dimm slots are populated) you could pull out a stick just for diagnostic purposes

Are you using the onboard Promise RAID controller? I had the same problem (using WinXP Pro), and through A LOT of trial and error found this to occur if I had my hard drives attached to both RAID ports (as master). In my case putting both drives on the same RAID channel in a master/slave configuration solved the problem. I was also experiencing an annoying hiccup (where the video would freeze momentarily) in various games (e.g., Wolfenstein) at approximately one second intervals. This was also alleiviated. Of course, this begs the question of whether conecting the drives in this fashion is any more efficient than using the channels in Ultra-ATA 100 (mode 5) mode and not RAID. This configuration also worked well.

One other note, SOYO just posted a new BIOS on 1/7/2002 (KVXA2BA2) that claims to have addresed a memory-related problem as well as adding XP 2000+ support. No mention of any RAID fixes, but it may be worth a shot before reconfiguring.
