Seeing as how EA agreed with Bioware on holding back Mass Effect for the PC until they had it "DONE" I don't think they'll be rushing out this game either.

Uh, ME for the PC wasn't 'done'. The inventory system was horribly broken and the game suffered from various clipping issues, not to mention cut content.
Wrong. The inventory system is fine, and actually improved from the console version (it was a 100% recode by Demiurge). "Clipping issues"? None, and certainly nothing not on the Xbox. "Cut content"? Again, none, unless you're complaining that the DLC isn't out yet.

Agreed. I played through both the 360 and PC version multiple times and... a) the PC's inventory system and UI was heads and shoulders better than the 360's b) I don't remember ever encountering any clipping issue on either version c) Again, I played through both versions and the content is EXACTLY the same (unless I missed a tiny tid-bit of a mission)

All in all, they did a great job on the PC version and their were some appreciated improvements -- something that can't be said for a lot of ports. Even the online verification is a cinch and actually let's you play the game without the disc.

My insider says that the voice acting is actually kinda mediocre. Hopefully it does not descend to the level of Oblivion's. I do hope that they can get the lightening to strike in the same place again though. Would be nice to see a Balder's Gate quality RPG again.

Having just completed my second run thru on Mass Effect I am already jonesing for another bioware fix. Seriously, they can do no wrong in my eyes. NWN, KoToR1, Jade Empire, Mass Effect...I love Bioware! And next year we'll get Dragon Age, and Mass Effect 2 (KEEP YOUR SAVEGAME INFO) hopefully before 2010.

It doesn't look like Dragon Age will play like KoTor or ME. Kotor had the queue system but wasn't much for tactics, and ME was more FPS than strategy when it came to combat. I'd really love to see a Bioware RPG do a fantasy setting using ME-type realtime combat controls.

That's only . . . what? Half a Saturday? :p

Don't even laugh. I played it a couple hours after work for a few days, total game time about 11 hours, with almost all side quests completed, on the hardest setting unlocked after the first play through. It does go by quick, but was almost as much fun the second time. I love running into a room with 10+ mercs and just throwing them around like ragdolls with biotics.

While I enjoyed Mass Effect, the only thing I want Dragon Age to share with it is production value.

I am excited about this game. It looks like it will be a lot of fun, and I have a lot of faith in Bioware RPGs.

As far as NWN1 goes, I thought that the main downside of the game was that it did not allow several controllable NCPs like the rest of the D&D games. Controlling and fighting with just one character and non-controllable NPC got kinda boring at times.

I must be the only one in the world that prefers it this way (assuming the AI behaves well). When I play an RPG I like to imagine myself as the character and NPC's as other people. Switching between characters ruins this feel of BEING the main character for me and makes the game feel more like Warcraft III or something.

As for Dragon Age, the scripting, dialogue and graphics look pretty nice. But the combat looks bad...it looks like a big mess IMO.

NWN1 and BG2 are not similar at all, and people shouldn't fault either game for not playing like the other. Both of them are classics; BG2 for it's exceptional story, length, and party system. And NWN was like the Youtube of RPGs; I can't count how many hours I spent on the hundreds of fan-made modules. They're both great games.

Having said that, I can't wait for DA! The new trailer on Origins was very nice. :D

And I will chunk a molotov cocktail through EA's front door if it ships with Securom and activation limits.

Yeah...that's what Epic said about Unreal Tournament III. Then they went and released an unpolished, buggy beta as their retail release. It will be released when it's finished--or in time for Christmas--whichever comes first.

And I've installed BG1/2, PST, and IWD more times than I can count on more systems than I can remember. In the last 10 years, I've had a Pentium Classic 75 to a C2D Wolfdale and everything in between. Had those games had DRM like Spore, RA3, ME, FC2, and Clear Sky, I wouldn't still be playing them today without massive cracks. Not to mention that the developers/publishers don't stay in business forever.

You can thank piracy for the action most game software companies have had to take, personally I have had every sort of copy protection you can think of from SecuROM to Starforce and while I'm well aware of the issues they can cause, in my personal experience on my computers I have been one of the lucky ones with no issues(unless you count Bioshock when their autentication server was overloaded),I refuse like many gamers out there to download any pirated game,if it means that I've got to live with DRM etc so be it,end of the day as legit gamers we don't have that many legal choices.

You have to remember it takes a lot of time/money and effort to make a game, game companies have every right to protect their software and I for one don't blame them.

Speaking of Clear Sky I'm playing that at the moment, very stable game in my experience.

Dragon Age I'll buy regardless of what copy protection/DRM it has etc....
