so I bought the ultimate edition w/ the awakening recently and while I like the Origin, the awakening just seemed a unfinished product. So many bugs for instance:
1. my imported equipment like Rose's Thorn and Provocater's armor etc. all gone in the mine quest, the final chest before the 2 dragons contained nothing.
2. several side quests like Lover's trail quest just couldn't initiate at all.
3. constant crashes much more than Origin not sure why.
4. +X healing effect not working
etc.

I have a feeling this Awaken when it first came out must be very buggy even after so many patches it still is and the importing process from Origin to Awaken is also buggy, I tried about 3-4 times before it worked for my main char otherwise you get a naked character coming into the game. Just makes me constantly saving it in case of a crash or some buggy quest that requires reloading to get it working.

sorry about rant, got frustrated after a while on this expansion.

Yeah, Awakening was a very crappy expansion QA wise. It was so bad, that the patch that preps the main game for the expansion -- patch 1.03 -- actually turns the main game into an unstable mess!

There have actually only been two patchs released for Awakening though, 1.04 and 1.05. 1.04 fixed a few things but not nearly everything, while 1.05 just came out recently and all it does is fix some DLC activation problems.

another frustration for me is that in some Quests, if you miss an item the first time going thru an area (like dragon egg from Mine, Fixing a fade tear before exiting the fade in blackmarsh etc) it means I cannot complete the necessary set or materials for wade to make an item. I ended up turning back 5-6 hours of game just to redo the blackmarsh area. I think they should design it so the areas can be revisted and loots still there. anyways, awakening just not the same quality as Origin, the bugs in the game makes the experience much less satisfying than Origin.

i dont recall any major bugs in quests, but i really enjoyed the expansion.

Same for me, I don't recall anything that was game breaking. There's some timing issues with companion quests, thats about it. At least, when played stock. I've installed a number of graphic and texture mods, some have some memory leaks. If I play too long, the game runs out of RAM and crashes.

Now, DA2, thats buggy.

The healing effect never worked even in Origins, as far as I know.

I have to admit that I only played about a half hour of Awakenings, and never went back to it. I am still on the first part in it, and I may never finish it. I don't really have the desire to play it anymore anyway.

well i hope you all talking about the same game here. I don't have too much problem in origins, in fact, not any I can remember. But once I started on Awakening, the trouble just never ends. Perhaps it only occurs if you do the DLCs first or some other peculiar things which triggers the problems. But in all, my experience in Awakening is just unpleasant.
