Dr. Z's Mocking of Ray Lewis' so-called "Stats"

You know what I'm sick of? The artificial tackles and assists numbers the stat crew, which is composed of employees of the home team, in this case the Ravens, awards to Ray Lewis. They appeared in the Indy game stat sheet as 8-2 T&A. I watched this oh so carefully. Not only was Ray hardly a factor against the Colts, but there's no way he could have made 10 tackles, even if they would have awarded some for merely yelling at the ball cariers. It's shameful, but every home team boosts its superstars this way. I command you, my readers, not to pay attention to these statistics.

FINALLY. He's been over rated for about 5 years...seriously, he just yells and screams at people to try and get attention, he's like TO except he helped murder somebody. Honestly, i've seen games where he'll have 3 tackles and he'll get credit for 11 or 12. Meanwhile every announcer gargles his nuts constantly. Guys not even the best LB on the Ravens.

have you watched the ravens much?

at least half of his "tackles" he jumps on the pile after he is down...i mean he is still really good, but he has lost a lot from 2 years ago, and i dont think he is still the best in the league

Ridiculously over-rated. Accipiter22 pretty much sums it up.

Also, I'm getting to the point where I can barely put on Sunday Night Football if the Ravens are playing because The Three Stooges there can't stop talking about how great Ray Lewis (in their minds). I like the guys, but they go way, way, waaaaaay too far in praising "superstars".

suggs is the best LB on the team.. lewis is just a screamer.. he used to be good, but at least he still intimidates.. that's still a factor on the field

His dominance on the field is a bit overstated; he's not nearly as good as he was a few years ago (when he used to be involved in EVERY play). That said, he's still an excellent leader for an excellent defensive crew. And other superstars are afforded the same gushing praise long after it's worn its welcome; Favre and Vick are two perfect examples.

Agreed. They are by far the worst announcing crew in the NFL.

yeah they just say the most ridiculous things...i hate them so much

and Deeko, i dont know what you are talking about, even my friends who are ravens fans make fun of ray lewis now...when my friend who was at that game saw that stat he just started laughing, because he was paying attention and only heard Lewis' name called 4 times on tackles
