I'd love to do that with my goats during the summer. $$ for me, free food for the goats, someone else's weed problem taken care of. win-win-win. All it takes is a $100 solar fence charger, ($200 for a very good one), a ground rod, ($10), fiberglass fence posts every 8 or so feet ($1.19 each), and galvanized or aluminum wire ($15 for 1/4 mile of fencing wire - just bought a spool about 2 weeks ago.)
they use goats here to clear hillside brush before fire season. They put up electric fences and let the goats go at it.
Maybe you should get a really wide brimmed hat, a sheepherder's crook, and forgo the fence. You can spend the idyllic days of summer surrounded by fainting goats and a thermos of lemonade.
