Dr. Pepper 10 is the bomb...

I wouldn't say it tastes almost exactly like Dr. Pepper.

I will say that it doesn't have QUITE the tang that most diet drinks have. I'd prefer the solution Dr. Pepper choose. Instead of trying to hit 0 calories, just aim for a significantly lower number that will help you keep the taste intact. Even if they cut the calories by half or a little bit more then I think that would be huge.

I don't think anyone hits 0 calories.

I have almost totally switched from regular to this stuff, I hardly notice the difference now. It is a huge step up from pure diet Dr. Pepper, which tastes nothing like the original.

Yeah, I've been kinda thinking for a while that there needs to be a "lite" 12oz with about 60 calories or so.

edit: 60 because you can have it be slightly sweet without using any artificial sweeteners

I bought a 12 pack of this Dr. Pepper 10. I suppose if I was drinking diet drinks with 0 calories, this might taste real good. It doesn't. 10 calories is not enough to give it enough of a shot. Like the prior posted stated, go for something with about 50 - 70 calories. Enough of a sugar kick to taste without the sour diet additive. So far, nobody does this.

Just about every "diet" drink I can think of is 0 calories. Diet Coke, Diet Pepsi, etc, etc. Then there's Coke Zero and Pepsi Max which are supposed to be "the same great flavor of x with none of the calories" but they taste almost exactly like their diet versions.

THis is agreed. However I really enjoyed diet dr. pepper to begin with. The 10cal version is nothing but good. Granted I never drink soda anymore, this was a treat over the holiday weekend.

DP10 is added to my soda collection. I had switched from drinking regular Coke to Caffeine-Free Coke exclusively. It tastes just like regular Coke but still has 140c per can. My wife loves DP10 as well and she had switched to drinking Coke Zero. I only drink one a night as kind of a treat. If they had Caffeine-Free Dr. Pepper 10 then I would be in heaven.

You sir, have damaged taste buds.

DP10 is decent, but I still prefer diet... And I like diet over regular. Everytime I drink regular cola these days it feels like my pancreas is going to burst. But I am 35 years old.

The other side effect of DP10 is that it has alot more caffeine. It's almost to the Mountain Dew level with Caffeine (81mg vs 68mg in diet)... I do not like caffeine because it causes headaches in me, so I watch that number closely.

I must be weird because I always thought Diet Dr Pepper was the closest of all diet drinks to taste like their full sugar counterparts.

I just wish soda makers would use sucralose instead of aspertame to sweeten their diet sodas. I much prefer the taste of sucralose. There are some knock-off soda brands that do (Sodastream uses Splenda), but none of the big-name ones do.

OMG no! Diet Dr. Pepper isn't bad, but it's nowhere near the yumminess that is regular Dr. Pepper. Dr. Pepper 10 tastes a bit less thick or syrupy to me compared to regular Dr. Pepper (I like this very much actually), and the flavor is much, much improved over Diet IMO.

Yeah, in general I like Sucralose diet drinks better than aspertame based ones.

I agree, it doesn't taste exactly like regular DrP (and that was fine, DrP always felt like it had too much syrup to me). But stuff like Diet Coke and Pepsi aren't even in the same ballpark as their originals.

It's good. My favorite diet soft drinks are:

1) Canadian Dry Ginger Ale - about the best diet drink ever
2) Coke Zero
3) Diet Sierra Mist
4) Diet 7UP
5) Diet Dr. Pepper Vanilla
6) Diet Dr. Pepper 10
7) Diet Pepsi Max
8) Diet Mt. Dew Code Red

Coke Zero and Diet Coke are based off of different formulas and flavors and don't taste ANYTHING alike. Coke Zero is much closer to true Coke than Diet ever was, and that's because Coke Zero was designed to be that way. Diet Coke was never intended to be a clone but its own flavor, which the "new coke" was eventually based off of... which was then canned when everybody bitched so they went back to "coke classic".
