Pretty beta cuck hit piece. He calls her "kiddo?" Really? That's such a beta move, as soon as "kiddo" comes out of the other side's mouth, you know they've lost.

I don't see any problem whatsoever using her appropriate salutation in any context other than in a hospital/physicians office because it can be incredibly confusing given colloquially use of the term.

Somewhat ironically, I delivered two children prior to becoming a "doctor" and zero afterward. Shrug.

If I’ve got a legitimate PHD (edit or MD or EDD), in anything I’m going by Dr. What a shitty opinion piece.

Dr Biden has a bachelors, 2 masters and a Ed.D.

The author of the article said her use of the title "sounds and feels fraudulent, not to say a touch comic."

Indicated that her doctoral dissertation was somehow inferior because it had an "unpromising title."

Says that she should think her own personal accomplishments were inferior to those of her husband.

Indicates being called "kiddo" should be more acceptable than calling her Dr.

Says her use of the title is somehow an important matter in the grand scheme of things.

Says unless one has delivered a child, they should not be called Dr (despite the use of the title in a large portion of the world.)

Indicates Biden’s Ed.D. inherently holds less prestige than a Ph.D

Jeez. The tenor of it all is so disparaging and dismissive, and it comes from someone who hasn't accomplished even a small portion of what she has, including having even 1advanced degree.

"A wise man once said that no one should call himself 'Dr.' unless he has delivered a child," he continued. "Think about it, Dr. Jill, and forthwith drop the doc."

Interestingly.....Dr. Jill Biden has already delivered a baby, so I suppose she is indeed qualified to use the term Dr.

My wife has heard similar comments from men telling her "she's not a real doctor then" when they find out she's a veterinarian. Once after a fairly intensive surgery on a dog and the dog's owner was "only" a nurse. I suspect along with racism, misogyny and bigotry will be around until the end of time.

I also suspect we'll have to suffer through 4 years of constant attacks and investigations of the entire Biden family. If you think Jill Biden doesn't deserve the title of doctor, imagine how disappointed you must be to learn that Melania Trump is only a gold digging Yugoslavian whore that married Trump to get her family here via chain migration.

The interesting thing is people that make claims like this just put their full ignorance on display. If you look at the origin of the word "doctor", it comes from the latin "docere", which is scholar or to teach. It is used world wide in the way Dr. Biden is using it, as opposed to its more narrow usage for medical doctors in the US and some other nations.

Is this the new tan suit controversy?

Hey this is a real scandal-unlike the minor stuff we have had the last four years.

I wonder how many times the WSJ has run opinion pieces decrying Trump's financial ties with the fed government, ditto re his kids, the dozens of corruption scandals with his cabinet and other high ups, etc.

It probably ran right next to an opinion piece calling for the fiscal responsibility for the feds, that we should now balance the budget by cutting expenses.

Some things never change.

Mr. Epstein had never been to college so perhaps he doesn't realize that every prof with a PhD (the vast majority of profs) is called Doctor. It is puzzling though as he managed to have a career editing Phi Beta Kappa's alumni rag for over twenty years without noticing this. To me, the question is, "Why did the Wall Street Journal choose to run Mr. Epstein's silly screed?" Then I recalled that the WSJ is just another Murdoch rag and misogyny is just a way of life.

It's fair warning from the Repubs that whatever crimes Trump and his family have committed and/or being accused of and whatever despicable ploy McConnell has hatched and whatever underhanded, backstabbing, disingenuous scams their legislators have committed against The People, and whatever immoral, unethical, unlawful anti-democratic fascist plots they've been working at is now forgotten and self-forgiven because there will now be a Democrat running the nation. A commie loving, socialist/liberal corrupted establishmentarian that must suffer the same fate that that other commie loving, socialist/liberal black Kenyan born Democrat had to suffer through.

Family values, fiscal conservatism and lipsticking pigs are now back in vogue along with every other window dressing the Repubs can put up in their storefront display.

Eh, a part of me wonders if we should really even report on this sort of drivel. I mean... do we want to give people like this the time of day? People making silly remarks like this remind me more of children that look to find any sort of reasoning to back up their "<insert thing here> bad!" viewpoint.

Although, in regard to the topic, I know people that have a Doctorate outside of a medical field and they use the "Dr." title.

I lived in Delaware and taught in Delaware. Delaware is a really small state you meet your local representatives and you have to try to not shake hands with your Congressmen and Senators. One morning on my way to school I stopped at WAWA for my morning coffee and the local rep was out glad-handing . I smiled and said don't waste your time with me you have my vote and I always vote. He took a couple steps towards me grabbed my elbow with two hands and just had to thank me! I like getting the chance to look my local Representatives in the eyes. I have looked Joe Biden in the eye, but this is about Dr Jill. She is a politicians wife and shows up at a lot of events, she is not out glad-handing, she is the person scrubbing the pots in the church kitchen. She is real and she is loved. I held my nose voted for Joe and pretended I was voting for Jill. I hope she never forgives him for her not showing up on the short list for Vice President.

I'll just sit back and wait for the apology that probably will never come from such a minuscule persona that wrote the article in the first place

I get several letters every year asking me to divvy up $$$ to subscribe to the WSJ. Reason is, one day about 5 years ago outside my usual grocery shopping indy supermarket, a guy with a clipboard buttonholes me and says I can get a super cheap subscription to the WSJ. I was initially reticent, but it was so cheap I said OK. The papers stacked up in the house. It's true that they have a lot of really good journalism. I'm sure some that's not so good and this is proof that they can have awful journalism.

I'd never consider replying to those letters.
