HAHAH, Just wait till I megaflush with my 486@20Mhz, thats been running for two weeks already.... 
Here's the funny part - this PPRO180 is doing almost as many keys/sec as my K6-2/300
and the two combined, ALMOST equal my Celery 400. Every little bit helps!

LOL DanC. Makes me wanna pull out my 486/25 notebook and start crackin'. Only thing, I don't have a dock for it with a NIC (nor do I have an external NIC, eg., a Xircom parallel port model or similar - this thing has no PCMCIA slots and I think the modem is dead). I expect I could sneakernet it, but not sure how to do that with RC5 (I know how to do it with Seti).

I didn't think there was a 586 SMP capable distro of Klinux yet. I am supposed to contact Kilowatt once I had the dual P100 up and he was going to shoot me one. I think. But I've sleep since then, so I could be wrong.
BTW, does your Ppro180 have jumper settings to accept Ppro200s? If so, you may be able to set it to that and OC that puppy a little bit. We have a Compaq Proliant 800 dual Ppro180, that as soon as the heatsink/fans get in, we will set the jumper to 200mhz (we tested it already, but needed better cooling than just the stock heatsink), so it will be running as a dual Ppro200.
I do the same thing with the P75s I have, depending on the MB, I set them for 100mhz, and they run just fine.
As you say, every little bit helps!

You can always try the 686 version for your nic.

Right now, I'm working on trying to write the dnetc.ini file back to the floppy, without overwriting the boot image.
It's been requested by alot of people, and that's what Cory was trying to do with his SCCD.
That's a tough job when I'm learning as I go.
I am closing in on it though.

Can I do something with my 486DX1 66Mhz system?
The hard drive is a 40Meg Maxtor I had on my 286. I just have Dos installed...
Would Klinux work with this?
(btw, no network cards, just a 56K modem).

No SSP, he idea behind Klinux was network connectivity with a floppy bootdisk.
No modem support.
A dos client with sneakerneting might work for your system though.

I'm confused by your comments (I don't want to hear anything from the peanut gallery). :Q
It is on my network, I'm using WIN95 on an IBM 1G SCSI HD attached to the dual P100, with a ISA NIC. So it is only using 1 of the P100s at this time. I use VNC for remote management. Screen refresh is a little slow, but works.
I haven't setup any nodes yet with the Klinux distro.

Matterhorn distro gives you the ability to custom build a distro with only the 'one' NIC driver you need, this leaves room for files such as telnet, customized dnetc.ini, etc...
