Btw haven't been on it this week ,been busy building PCs in most of my spare time

I've told the wife about it, so just let me know if you are going to be on. We'll arange a meeting. 🙂 And I don't know if you are in a guild or not, but she's an officer in ours, so you can join ours if you wish...

I was on it earlier 😉 ,don't know when I'll be next.
I'm already in a Guild ,my sons one ,however long that will last😉😛

I'll try to remember to PM you here before I next play 🙂

Aight. Or if you want, my wife is on here too. I don't play much anymore, but she palys all the time. Her nick here is 'lizardth'...

I just timed it, and my machine finished a simulation in 21 minutes. Each one add 4k to the result.txt file. So I upload roughly every 8.75 hours.

Well, I do the command line version, and it just tells you... It saves every 4 minutes (by default--the setting is in config.txt), and it saves about 4 - 5 times on mine, and then finishes it... The simulation is complete when it counts all the particles, and then it runs out of particles (I don't really know, the number goes up, and then it goes down)... 🙂

When it first starts up, mine says:
Detected 4 logical processors
Hello, [TA]Fullmetal Chocobo
Loading genomes.... 1170, done.
New simulation
Searching for auto-saved file...
BUilding proximity grid 3x3x50 (450 cells)... Done
- Starting -

And this it starts doing the numbers. When you finish a simulation, it writes all of this stuff again, so it's easy to see.

Mine's set to save every 2 mins

I left mine at the default 240 seconds.

Does saving too often slow down the crunching?

Would I get more work done by going to 480 seconds?

Yes, it slows it down but not by much. A normal save (I've watched the comand line) takes less than 2 seconds and my period is set for 360 seconds. My clients finish usually make anywhere from four to seven saves per simulation. If you look at the Task Manager CPU graph, though, it doesn't drop, so it looks like it keeps crunching during the save.

I have one client that runs completely from a USB Flash Drive. Since they do "wear out," I don't let it auto save.

No mine is connecting fine. I always edit my servers.csv file and remove all the servers except stephenbrooks.org, then I save it and make it read only. I'm just paranoid that my results gets send to a server that crashes or something and my results are lost, so I send it straight to the big boss..

Yeah I noticed that on the third try it went to stephenbrooks.org and was successful

I was having problems with certain servers so I did the same thing.

Thanks FmC 🙂

They do? I didn't know that!😱 ,how long do they last?
