DPAD Question

I have two questions.

1) Can I run the clients w/o being connected to the internet and just upload whenever I get a chance? I'll be at a friend's house this weekend, and I won't be connected to the internet at his place.

2) If one client is running and I have to unplug it from my network (when I bring my work laptop home, this happens frequently), will it continue to run alright?

1) Yes, you can 🙂 This is called "sneakernetting". DPAD can run for AGES without needing an active internet connection. Just set in the Config.txt the "Auto-send results: N", "Download sample results: 0" and "Update lattice files: 0" 🙂 The next time you get a chance, execute the "manualsend.bat" file 🙂

2) Yeah, this should be fine 🙂 I do the same with my laptop 🙂

OK first, yeah you don't need a inet connection when running the client. Just download and install the client, let it run for the first time with a inet connection so that the new results.dat and sampleresults.dat can download, and from then on you only need a inet connection when you want to upload the results, a week, month...ur choice. Remember to set the number of days here: Download sample results file after a number of days (0=don't): 3 in the config.txt to 0 if ur not gonna have a inet connection for some time. 😀

Second, thats fine, it will upload the results as soon as it's connected to the inet again after the results.txt is 100kb. 😀
