if anyone is having issues using zone alarm try using PASV mode for the ftp transfer and allowing muon1.exe to access the trusted and internet zones. also allow C:\WINNT\System32\FTP.exe (C:\Windows\System32\FTP.exe in Win 98/ME/XP) to access both trusted and internet zones. this fixed my issues for me running zone alarm pro.

I vote for this to get added to the dpad guide!

Well, I just tried that and it din't solve my ZAP problem. I gruant access to all my zones, open ports what so ever ... the only way for me to send is to shut down my ZAP. :(

I tried that with both 4.0 and 4.5. I always get to the point when it is supposed to open the ASCII connection. The results.txt file is renamed into that long named file and that's it. t'll sit there for an hour if I don't stop it. And it happens with all the servers, not just a single one.

very odd, i just set mine under the programs tab to Access Internet & Trusted for FTP.exe and Muon1.exe and it never gave a hiccup. i mean really all it is is a dos ftp window, can you ftp in dos to any other servers as a test?

im guessing you are using windows xp? all of the machines i have been running on have been 98, nt or 2k and none have the issue with zone alarm, but this morning i tested on 2 xp machines and sure enough the ftp screen would come up and just sit there until eventually a little popup came up telling me it couldnt connect to any ftp servers. i shut down zone alarm and it worked. im gonna do some more research into this because it should work on xp as it does on 2k....

Nice find Unforgiven. Indeed, I use WinXP Pro on my ICS PC. My other Win 2k machine is routed through it, so it can't send either. Plz keep us posted if u can find anything, cause I gave up on it.:D

what the hell is with running this project on windows xp? on the 3 xp boxes i run this on at work the opening of the ftp console and sending of results is horribly slow. this project may crunch great on windows xp but there is definately some kind of flaw in the coding when trying to send units. im starting to get really frustrated with some of this stuff :|

Maybe check the server it's sending to that hangs a long time and delete it from the servers.csv file. This usually helps for me...

edit: I've got 5 XP machines running DPAD, no prob sending...

lol yeah the issue was that i was running seti on the same machine and the dos ftp window was just going really really slow so i shut down seti and it sped it up. anyhow ive been doing more research with the zone alarm issue and i can only replicate it on windows xp. i was reading up on the dpad forum on stephen's page and he said to one person having ftp issues to try to run the debugger for version 4.34. i want to try this but the .rar and .zip files on his page for download are corrupt so i cant try it out. he also suggested copying ftp.exe from system32 to your dpad directory on your pc and changing the name of ftp.exe to muonftp.exe and then editing the line in the config.txt file to have it call that program for ftp purposes. that suggestion did not work as it still hung. anyhow if anyone has a copy of the debugger for version 4.34 called v434bugexe.zip please let me know so i can get it and try to get this issue straightened out. also, another suggestion was to use version 4.33 to see if that clears up the issue, but ill try the debugger first off to see how that goes if i can get my hands on it. ill keep this thread up to date if i find anything useful.
