Ok, amdxborg, I am answering da call!

A 2.4ghz northwood is now crunching for dPad

Will get the 3.06ghz northwood hyperthread cpu involved also. Will give F@H a rest for now (sorry GLeeM!):(

Question: should I activate hyperthreading on the 3.06 or just leave it as one process running?

Question: running the 2.4 in backround mode "normal" speed (not using this pc for anything else except to crunch) - is this quicker than the GUI screensaver?

Question: also have a Pentium III 500mhz collecting dustbunnies on the floor - use it for dpad?

Setting the "User" text file to read:

[TA]Turtleblue

to add results to TeAm's total. Is this correct?

Thanks for joining, Turtle Blue!

Your questions - from the last to the first:

1. The user.txt file is correctly set.
2. The 500Mhz pentium could be used for DPAD - but it will be slow ... the question is if it is worth the electricity ... if that is not a problem, please start it up!
3. If you use the "background" or the "Command line" mode does not matter - as long as you do not use the screen saver (which is in a way nice - but really slows the crunching.
4. Please activate hyperthreading. DPAD will - by default - run two threads. Alternatively you could run two instances of DPAD (in two different directories) and gain parhaps 5 - 7% more points ...

Welcome to the team! :D

Welcome, [TA]Turtleblue !

Thx for the sTAtS, Johan. And I have to say that Starrider and allio are kicking some crunching butt today. Go TeAm!

What the hell... I'm only running an A64 and a Sempron and as far as I know they've both been submitting their work every 100KB. I have no idea where a 432k dump could have come from :Q

Has anyone run DPAD using WINE in Linux for any extended period of time? I'm worried that it's giving bogus results.

sssssh. But on the flipside, are you kidding? You *really* only have those two boxes? Because if that's the case, something is either badly broken with DPAD, or someone is anonymously crunching under your nick.

If it were me, I'd hope for the latter. ;)

p.s... Post the contents of your sendlog.log files here, and we can tell you if your comps are borken.

p.s.s.... I really shouldn't have clicked your alizee link. I'm an old man, and that's just bad (in a good way :)).

Then someone is crunching under your nick. I searched all users *allio*, and you were the only one that came up. Maybe Stephen Brooks could figure it out. But, I'd say enjoy the ride. :)

-jim

p.s... Look in your results.dat files, and see what kind of an average score you're getting per result. If it's massive (say 1000+) that may be an issue. Search for 'Mpts'.

Nope, most are below 100, with only a few over 500. Oh well...

Latest FreeDC update shows another 20k points added, this is insane. Either someone is crunching for me with about 50 boxes or there's something weird going on at the server end. I think I'll give it a day or two to see what happens :p

20k is only about 20 boxes, and maybe less. Like I said, enjoy the ride. :)

-jim

p.s... This might be an excellent time to tell TA about your new overclocking invention. :D

Haha, if only I knew the details so that I could ;)

Another 20k mpoints on the latest update. I am officially stumped. Between this and my ISP having some sort of error resulting in them not keeping track of how much data I'm downloading this is shaping up to be quite some weekend :D

Does anyone know what the term "Last Active(hrs)" refers to in DPAD stats?

Can't be, if assuming Jim means on the Free-DC stats site.
