Downside to using cable extensions?

Hey guys, I will be gearing up soon to start my ultra massive build, in a caselabs STH10 and wanted to go all out. I want to sleeve my PSU cables, but dont want to take apart the PSU/send it out. I wanted to just make my own cable extensions and sleeve that, but is there any downside to using extensions? Theoretically the power wont be as clean/effecient, but is it enough to even matter?

No. Power extension cables are perfectly fine to use. Though if you're rolling your own be sure to take the necessary care to ensure they're flawless.🙂

This will be my first time delving into the sleeved cable realm, so they will be anything but flawless 😛

I was planning on loosely following this guide:

It's a good guide. Stick to that and you should be okay.

Grabbing a cheap multimeter is not a bad idea though, so that you can use it to test each lead after you assemble the cable. The only real point of failure is going to be poor/no contact on the pins, which a multimeter will quickly help you find.

Theoretically speaking, the couplers and extra wire length will add to the overall resistance, meaning that the PSU has to work a little hard to keep the voltages in the proper range. In practice, this difference is so infinitesimal that it is irrelevant.
