Downside to lowered Vcore?

My T-Bird 900 appears to be stable with a reduced Vcore of 1.65V (so far) at 7x133. Any ill-effects to running Vcore below default setting? Also, is 3DMark2000 (looped) adequate to stress-test for this non-gaming PC? Primary reason to lower Vcore is heat reduction.

These concrete flats are getting hot!

if your system is stable at a lower vcore voltage then go for it........it can only be good for your system .....temp wise.......if you want to stress test your system more get prime 95......loop it....

I had run a Tbird 1.2ghz with 1.55V for about 3-4 months (till I upgraded to XP). No ill effects.

Only one would be instability. If you're happy with it, then go for it.

Panhead, Zzzz, Swanny & Bacillus:

Thanks for the comments, folks.

OK at 1.625V now, running various benchmarks and looping Sandra's CPU and Memory BurnIn utility. Temps are down 1 to 2 degrees C, and that heater under my desk is bearable.
