Downloads "pausing" in the middle?

Seem's like now my downloads through IE are really fast and such but the problem is that a lot of them simply tend to pause in the middle of the DL and they don't really end up resuming or anything.... bittorrent and other programs work fine...

Any ideas?

start using a download manager like Star Downloader. Might help.

I had this problem a while back too. Unfortunately I don't recall thie fix but it was either a Firewall setting or a router setting. Are you using either? IIRC it was ZoneAlarm for me -are you using this?

To think about it I had a computer do this once.Ie was corrupting the file to no return, and it would hang.It turned out to be a virus issue that hijacked IE and corrupted it

I am using zonealarm actually....*update* Turning off zonealarm fixes the problem.... so does anyone know what exactly within zonealarm is cuasing the problem?

To download with ZoneAlarm 5.* you must turn off the Mobile Code under Privacy. The trouble is, ZA recommends leaving mobile code enabled, which means to be the most secure, you need to turn it off, download, and then turn it back on. Crappy!

Some have downgraded to 4.5* or earlier to bypass this trouble.

Others suggest adding whichever website your dowloading from to the secure site list wtihin ZA. (Another pain, IMO).

I just started using the built-in microsoft firewall that came with wp2

you might be better off using Sygate. Not caused any problems with me yet
